Listen: Michael Jackson's First Posthumous Single 'Breaking News'

Michael_jackson

A "new" posthumous Michael Jackson album is on its way in mid-December. SONY Music's fluff on the release:

"The creative process never stopped for the King of Pop who was always planning for his next album; unbeknownst to many fans around the world Michael Jackson was writing and recording songs continuously everywhere from a friend’s home in New Jersey to studios in Las Vegas and Los Angeles with a small group of handpicked collaborators. Now, through the unique stories that will be told about the songs that comprise MICHAEL, fans will get mind-blowing insight into how this artist worked and a chance to hear the songs he most recently created along with tracks that Michael had a desire to bring to fruition. 'Breaking News,' a never heard before song by Michael that appears on the new album was recorded in New Jersey in 2007 and recently brought to completion."

There has been some controversy about whether or not the vocals on the album are genuinely Michael Jackson:

His nephews, TJ and Taryll Jackson, have now complained on Twitter about the track's "fake" and "shady" vocals.

Sony said in its statement that it had "complete confidence in the results of our extensive research, as well as the accounts of those who were in the studio with Michael, that the vocals on the new album are his own".

An unseen portrait of Michael Jackson shot more than ten years ago is up for auction later this year:

"The portrait, entitled Michael Jackson's Blue Eye, was shot by French photographer Arno Bani in 1999 and was one of the options for the cover shot of the singer's tenth and final studio album Invincible released in 2001...It will be put up for auction, along with 11 other never-before-published portraits of the late singer and 50 contact boards, by Auctioneers Pierre Berge & Associates in December. Auctioneer Frederic Chambre said bidding for each portrait is expected to start at $1,228. Parisian photographer Arno Bani claims Jackson contacted him when he was 23 years old, after seeing his fashion photography in a newspaper. The portrait was unveiled as the world prepares to mark the one year anniversary of Jackson's death."

In one, Gaga is asked about "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" and anti-gay discrimination.

Says Gaga: "I just think that in terms of education - sexual education, political education, and social education in schools, I think it's important to be specific about civil rights and a person's worth. No person is worth any less than another human being based on their sexual orientation."

In another, she is asked about her health, and her relationship with Michael Jackson.
