What To Watch This Week On TV: 'Dancing', 'New Girl' and 'Mindy' are back; NPH hosts the Emmys


As the TV season gets into full swing, check out our new weekly guide to make sure you're catching the big premieres, crucial episodes and the stuff you won't admit you watch when no one's looking.

— Dancing With the Stars returns with celebrities including Glee's Amber Riley, Snooki and Nomi Malone herself, Elizabeth Berkley Lauren. See them cut a rug tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern on ABC.

Ichabod Crane takes his hunt for the Headless Horseman into the 21st Century in Sleepy Hollow, premiering tonight at 9 p.m. on Fox.

There are four new episodes of comedy landing Tuesday on Fox, starting with Seth MacFarlane's Dads at 8 p.m. Eastern. Then it's the premiere of Andy Samberg's Brooklyn Nine-Nine at 8:30 p.m. Returning comedies New Girl, starring Zooey Deschanel, and The Mindy Project, starring Mindy Kaling, finish the evening at 9 p.m. Eastern and 9:30 p.m. Eastern respectively.

Gay Republican villain Colton Cumbie returns in the 27th season premiere of Survivor Wednesday at 8 p.m. on CBS. This season will feature returning castaways playing against their loved ones.

Neil Patrick Harris returns to host the Emmy Awards for his second time on CBS Sunday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. Eastern.

Clips and interviews from this week's TrevorLIVE event for The Trevor Project featuring Snooki and JWoww, Jane Lynch, and Cyndi McCain, held at NYC's Chelsea Piers.

Said Snooki: "Me and Jenni weren't exactly the best role models, but now that I'm a mom, I'm so grateful for The Trevor Project to support the LGBT youth so they have someone there for them because I'm praying I have a gay little boy one day."

Snooki and JWoww Will 'Kill' the Supreme Court if They Don't Strike Down Prop 8 and DOMA: VIDEO


Vanity Fair has the scoop from Saturday night's GLAAD awards:

Just days before the Supreme Court will be considering the Defense of Marriage Act and California’s Proposition 8, both of which prohibit same-sex marriage, the Jersey Shore stars hope the justices strike down both. “They better pass it,” JWoww said. “They better. Or I’ll come for them.” Snooki concurred: “Yeah. I will find you, and I will kill you,” she said.

I don't think Sonia Sotomayor has much to worry about but Scalia might.

New 'Funny Or Die' Clip Has 'Jersey Shore' Cast Getting Down With Political Theory: VIDEO


While we're on the subject of young Americans, the cast of MTV's Jersey Shore, cultural icons for some of the more youthful set, threw their weight behind the voting booth in a new Funny or Die video encouraging Millenials to turn out come November.

There's enough Duverger's law, game theory logic and political bickering in here to fill a hot tub, whatever that means, but the video is actually pretty funny. Check it out AFTER THE JUMP...
