Pro Wrestler Jay Briscoe Says He'll 'F**king Shoot' Anyone Who Tells His Kid Gay Marriage Is Okay

Briscoe

Pro wrestler Jay Briscoe, who currently wrestles with Ring of Honor, Combat Zone Wrestling, and Pro Wrestling Guerilla, and is the current Ring of Honor Chammpion with his brother Mark Briscoe, made some disgusting comments on Twitter yesterday morning following the passage of marriage equality in Delaware.

Said Briscoe: "The Delaware Senate passed a bill yesterday that allows same sex couples to get married. If that makes you happy, then congratulations!!!!! ... try and teach my kids that there's nothing wrong with that and I'll f**king shoot you"

Briscoe's Twitter account is offline as of this moment but I screencapped the tweets last night (below).

And he's being blasted by a couple of sports writers, like Matt Bishop:

If a WWE wrestler made these statements, it would probably be pretty close to the end for them. Luckily for Briscoe, ROH is so far under the radar that he'll likely skate on these statements.

And Keith Harris at SB Nation:

However, even if he wasn't the Ring of Honor World Champion, Jay Briscoe's latest homophobic outburst on Twitter should not only embarrass ROH management, but also the whole wrestling industry. It's one thing to politely disagree with gay marriage, quite another to say that you would commit acts of violence on anyone who teaches your children that it's OK.

This is much worse than TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bully Ray recently using gay slurs to trash talk a ringside fan. Ray was a heel who went too far in his attempts to generate heat whilst in the zone performing. It was a dumb move, but at least he and Dixie Carter quickly apologized for his indiscretion.

Pro Wrestler Bully Ray Apologizes After Calling Fan 'Faggot' and 'Frickin Queer' on Camera: VIDEO

Bullyray

Pro wrestler and TNA world heavyweight champion Bully Ray apologized yesterday for spewing homophobic slurs at a fan after a match in Chicago earlier this week. Bully Ray, aka Mark LoMonaco, is featured on Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) which airs on Spike TV.

Said the wrestler on Twitter:

"Had a very positive talk with the man I got into a verbal altercation with in Chicago. I personally apologized for my careless choice of words and my ignorance with regard to certain slurs I used. I take full responsibility and once again I apologize to all.

Here's what he said:

"Sit down, faggot. Yeah… [inaudible for a second]. What are you gonna do? You ain't gonna do a damn thing. You got punked in your own frickin' town. I'm punkin' you out in front of [Bully leans to the side, looks at who's sitting next to the fan, and says], I'm gonna say your daughter. You got punked! You invented fags, you fag. You should've did something already, you should've did something already, but you ain't doing nothing'. I'm punking you in front of your hometown. You frickin' queer. You shave your frickin' chest."

A TNA official said "this will not be tolerated" but there is no word of what kind of discipline might be meted out.

Russian Wrestling Coach Claims Masculinity-Hating Gays to Blame for Sport Getting Cut from Olympics

Russian wrestling coach Vladimir Uruimagov claimed on Tuesday that the decision by the International Olympic Committee’s Executive Board to cut wrestling from the 2020 Olympic games is the doing of gay activists who want to wipe masculinity from the world," R sport reports:

Wrestling“If they expel wrestling now, that means that gays will soon run the whole world,” said Uruimagov, saying it was "a blow to masculine origins. Uruimagov added: "It turns out this committee is headed by representative of these [sexual] minorities."

Uruimagov added: "It is necessary for millions around the world who understand that this is a man’s sport and who understand the need to continue the human race to go out and explain their position to the Olympic Committee. We should prove and explain that in any other case there is no future."

Hulk Hogan Says He's Not Gay, and Didn't Cheat on His Wife with Wrestler 'Brutus Beefcake': VIDEO

Hulk Hogan has filed a defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Linda Bollea over various claims, including one that he cheated on her with fellow wrestler Brutus Beefcake, Us Weekly reports:

The wrestling icon, 58, (real name: Terry Bollea) filed an 18-page lawsuit in Clearwater, Fla. on Thursday accusing his ex, 52, of defamation, the St. Petersburg Times reports.

In her memoir Wrestling the Hulk: My Life Against the Ropes, Linda writes of harrowing physical, mental and emotional abuse at the hands of her husband during their 24-year marriage...

During radio interviews promoting the tome, Linda also accused her former spouse of cheating on her with another male wrestler, Brutus Beefcake.

Linda's claims, Hulk's lawsuit says, have "exposed him to distrust, hatred, contempt and ridicule."

Said Hogan:

"After the four-year crazy divorce I thought I'd heard everything I could hear in the courtroom. Then, all of a sudden she says I abused her, that I was violent. She told everybody that I was a homosexual...If any of that was true, I would admit it, and (if) I was a homosexual I would embrace it. It's just so crazy to hear, so I have a real problem with it... If you're going to say I'm something that I'm not to try to ruin my career and my livelihood... I have to answer her back. It's so ridiculous. I don't mean to laugh about it, because it's not funny. But it's insane. It doesn't make any sense to me."

Harvard's wrestling team made a huge show of support for LGBT rights yesterday on National Coming Out Day, wearing t-shirts and pins in support of a gay non-resident tuto rand their LGBT peers, the Crimson reports:

According to wrestler David J. Lalo ’13 (above, left), it was a non-resident tutor in Lowell House, Robert Joseph “R.J.” Jenkins, who inspired the team to participate in National Coming Out Day. “[R.J.] has made a tremendous impact across our team,” Lalo said. “We wanted to show him we support the LGBT community.”

Jenkins, who is openly gay, said that he casually brought up the idea of wearing the pins one day while speaking with several athletes in the Lowell dining hall. He said the men responded positively to his proposal.
“I started to imagine it as an opportunity for them to come out as allies,” he said. “To think about a day for allies to come out and say, ‘I accept these people in my life. I accept them for who they are.’”

Said team captain Walter Peppelman in a press release obtained by Towleroad: "The Harvard Wrestling family believes that it is important to send a message of hope, love, and acceptance to the Harvard community. Today is also an opportunity for us to begin to break down some of the negative stereotypes attached to our sport and to athletics in general. We want to show that the members of Harvard Wrestling love and respect individuals for who they are, regardless of their sexual orientation and pledge to do our best to make them feel at home at Harvard."
