Russian Wrestling Coach Claims Masculinity-Hating Gays to Blame for Sport Getting Cut from Olympics

Russian wrestling coach Vladimir Uruimagov claimed on Tuesday that the decision by the International Olympic Committee’s Executive Board to cut wrestling from the 2020 Olympic games is the doing of gay activists who want to wipe masculinity from the world," R sport reports:

Wrestling“If they expel wrestling now, that means that gays will soon run the whole world,” said Uruimagov, saying it was "a blow to masculine origins. Uruimagov added: "It turns out this committee is headed by representative of these [sexual] minorities."

Uruimagov added: "It is necessary for millions around the world who understand that this is a man’s sport and who understand the need to continue the human race to go out and explain their position to the Olympic Committee. We should prove and explain that in any other case there is no future."

Hulk Hogan Says He's Not Gay, and Didn't Cheat on His Wife with Wrestler 'Brutus Beefcake': VIDEO

Brutus_hulk

Hulk Hogan has filed a defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Linda Bollea over various claims, including one that he cheated on her with fellow wrestler Brutus Beefcake, Us Weekly reports:

The wrestling icon, 58, (real name: Terry Bollea) filed an 18-page lawsuit in Clearwater, Fla. on Thursday accusing his ex, 52, of defamation, the St. Petersburg Times reports.

In her memoir Wrestling the Hulk: My Life Against the Ropes, Linda writes of harrowing physical, mental and emotional abuse at the hands of her husband during their 24-year marriage...

During radio interviews promoting the tome, Linda also accused her former spouse of cheating on her with another male wrestler, Brutus Beefcake.

Linda's claims, Hulk's lawsuit says, have "exposed him to distrust, hatred, contempt and ridicule."

Said Hogan:

"After the four-year crazy divorce I thought I'd heard everything I could hear in the courtroom. Then, all of a sudden she says I abused her, that I was violent. She told everybody that I was a homosexual...If any of that was true, I would admit it, and (if) I was a homosexual I would embrace it. It's just so crazy to hear, so I have a real problem with it... If you're going to say I'm something that I'm not to try to ruin my career and my livelihood... I have to answer her back. It's so ridiculous. I don't mean to laugh about it, because it's not funny. But it's insane. It doesn't make any sense to me."

Harvard's wrestling team made a huge show of support for LGBT rights yesterday on National Coming Out Day, wearing t-shirts and pins in support of a gay non-resident tuto rand their LGBT peers, the Crimson reports:

According to wrestler David J. Lalo ’13 (above, left), it was a non-resident tutor in Lowell House, Robert Joseph “R.J.” Jenkins, who inspired the team to participate in National Coming Out Day. “[R.J.] has made a tremendous impact across our team,” Lalo said. “We wanted to show him we support the LGBT community.”

Jenkins, who is openly gay, said that he casually brought up the idea of wearing the pins one day while speaking with several athletes in the Lowell dining hall. He said the men responded positively to his proposal.
“I started to imagine it as an opportunity for them to come out as allies,” he said. “To think about a day for allies to come out and say, ‘I accept these people in my life. I accept them for who they are.’”

Said team captain Walter Peppelman in a press release obtained by Towleroad: "The Harvard Wrestling family believes that it is important to send a message of hope, love, and acceptance to the Harvard community. Today is also an opportunity for us to begin to break down some of the negative stereotypes attached to our sport and to athletics in general. We want to show that the members of Harvard Wrestling love and respect individuals for who they are, regardless of their sexual orientation and pledge to do our best to make them feel at home at Harvard."

Wrestler CM Punk Calls Fan 'Homo,' Apologizes

CMPunk

WWE wrestler CM Punk unleashed a stream of invectives during a verbal altercation with a fan at an event in Australia yesterday.

In addition to referring to the fan as "sally" and calling him a woman, Punk also called the fan "a homo." Clearly he's very mature.

WWE was quick to respond to Punk's remarks, which appeared on TMZ, and released a statement insisting, "The WWE does not condone this type of language or bias and we reinforce that with our talent who are independent contractors."

Punk has also offered his contrition, via Twitter: “I'm glad TMZ posted that video because everybody needs to be held accountable for their [B.S.], me included. What I said was [B.S.]. I'm embarrassed. I own up to being a total douche in this situation and I offer a sincere apology to anybody I hurt with careless words.”
