The new Air France terminal 2E at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris opened last summer. Were all airport terminals so beautiful, travel might actually be considered glamorous again, rather than the treacherous headache of modern times.
Wood, pierced asphalt, glass, natural light, brushed chrome, leather, this 650 meter long, 30 meter wide waiting terminal makes the wait for a flight tolerable. Of course, time can always be killed shooting pictures.
It appears this terminal is very empty, when in fact it was filled with people. That's the magic. And that's a far cry from LAX. Traveling alone can often be lonely, but places like this fill the soul with expectation.
