Released a week before Halloween and a frightening presidential election, Eminem’s new animated video for “Mosh” brilliantly capitalizes on the convolution of holiday spookiness and the dark political figures and state of the world today. The biggest anti-war, anti-Bush statement in contemporary music has arrived, and it is a damning, dark cartoon that, as Salon perfectly put it, “makes Fahrenheit 9/11 look like a GOP campaign spot.” I have to say Eminem’s the last person I expected to carry the torch for the lefty liberals, but here he is…a must see.
