New York City Council Speaker Gifford Miller was questioned Sunday at a news conference by a reporter wearing “a badly groomed hair piece, a fake mustache and an ugly 1970’s tie” who identified himself as Dino Ironbody. Turns out the reporter was fake, used a fake name, and worked for a fake news program, The Daily Show. He asked Miller, “How do you feel about the president’s awesome plan to privatize Social Security?”
Stewart’s Daily Show concept continues to tap uncannily into the zeitgeist of modern media as it satirizes the troubled, politically corrupt state of today’s news via its admittedly false pretense. This stunt spoof on Jeff Gannon, the former reporter for the former news organization Talon News, will air on Thursday.
