Manchester Pride went off over the weekend and the British Army’s soldiers took part in the parade for the first time ever, in an effort to boost recruiting. The Royal Air Force took part for the second year, showcasing an aircraft cockpit (a picture of said cockpit, sent in by Towleroad correspondent Mark C, who was a volunteer steward in the parade, appears above), while the Royal Navy declined. A Ministry of Defence spokesperson said that the Army’s participation had nothing to do with a decline in the number of recruits signing up for the armed forces.
