If you’ve ever wanted to pick up your very own Duane Michals photograph and you live in L.A., you’re in luck. The Fahey/Klein gallery is about to open a show of his work, starting on April 6th. I’ve long been a fan of Michals’ particular way of seeing things; the power of his vision resides in his ability to provide just enough handwritten language into his images to provide an emotional charge. If you’re not familiar, stop by the artist’s reception this Thursday from 7-9. I wish I could. And sorry for the crappy reproduction of the shot above. That’s my doing, not Duane’s.
