David Hasselhoff recently told a crowd at Trinity College in Dublin, where he was promoting a book, movie, and his latest cheesetastic single, that KITT was gay:
“We have some fairly X-rated outtakes on ‘Knight Rider.' Kitt was constantly asking, ‘Do you want me to take you home Michael?' in that very camp voice of his.”
KITT was actually the onboard computer of the Knight 2000, the tricked-out Pontiac Trans Am that Hasselhoff drove in the TV series. The original Knight 2000 can be seen at the Cars of the Stars Motor Museum in Keswick, Cumbria, England (you can thank Wikipedia for that little factoid).
If the Knight 2000 had actually been gay, it probably would have been a Volkswagen Cabriolet.
Knight Rider, like other successful series from the 80's, is being developed into a movie (here's the recently surfaced teaser poster) planned for release in 2008.
