Two men, Craig Lander and Jonathan Senwick, charged with attacking a man outside a 7/11 in Phoenixville, northwest of Philadelphia, are currently free on bail, NBC10 reports.
The man, identified only by “Tim” says he was attacked because he is black and gay.
Tim stepped out of his car to ask one of the men why he had thrown a snowball at his friend Kelly as she was entering the 7/11. Tim said that the men then began using racist and gay slurs before assaulting him repeatedly. Police pulled up during the assault, chased down the suspects, and found “a bloody pair of brass knuckles” in his pocket, according to police.
The attackers have been charged with assault, terroristic threats, and ethnic intimidation, according to NBC10 Philadelphia. Lander claims he has been “misidentified” according to the news station. Lander's victims say otherwise.
