As a follow-up to my post from last night on Bush's interaction with Rep. Barney Frank at the State of the Union address, here's a clip from FOX News' post-speech broadcast in which Brit Hume interrupts commentator Nina Easton to note that Bush (shock!) actually stopped to talk to a (gasp!) liberal.
Presumably this is when Bush told Frank he hoped he told his boyfriend how “open-minded” he is.
Said Hume: “Hold on a second, what we just saw there was an interesting moment, a moment of friendship, almost affection between the president and none other than Barney Frank, who I think it's fair to say is one of the most liberal Members of Congress, also one of the smartest guys up there, but, uh…”
I'd love to know what Hume was going to say next before Easton gave him the rational explanation.
