FREEHELD: Trailer for the documentary about Laurel Hester (who I wrote about quite a bit in 2006). Hester fought and won a tough battle with the Ocean County freeholders in order to leave her pension benefits to her partner. Hester died in February 2006. The documentary, Freeheld, is up for an Academy Award.
BILL CLINTON: Has strong words with CNN reporter Jessica Yellin, accusing the Obama campaign of stirring the race issue. According to the NYT, “The reporter told him that Dick Harpootlian, a former Democratic Party chairman in South Carolina and an Obama supporter, had called the Clinton campaign in South Carolina ‘reprehensible.' CNN also told him that Mr. Harpootlian had compared their tactics to those of Lee Atwater, the Republican operative who used racial politics and wedge issues.”
