Many of you are familiar with the "Day of Truth", the campaign created by right-wing religious groups as an answer to GLSEN's "Day of Silence", which promotes tolerance and fights LGBT bullying at schools nationwide.
The "Day of Truth" was formerly sponsored by "ex-gay" group Exodus International. In early October, Exodus said it would no longer sponsor the event because attention had been brought to the number of gay suicides caused by bullying.
Well, now Colorado Springs' Focus on the Family has picked up the torch and they're sponsoring the event and changing its name to "Day of Dialogue".
"Focus on Thursday launched the website Dayofdialogue.com, a resource for students interested in being part of the protest next April. 'The Day of Dialogue gives you, as a student, the opportunity to express the true model presented by Jesus Christ in the Bible (on homosexuality),' the website says…Focus resurrected the anti-gay program to balance the dialogue on homosexuality in schools, Candi Cushman, Focus education analyst, said in a news release. 'We're trying to raise awareness that more than one side needs to be heard on the issue of homosexuality, and we're helping to ensure that Christian students have the chance to express their viewpoint,' Cushman said.'"
On the Day of Dialogue's homepage, they suggest you read THIS to get an idea about the kind of truth they're pushing.
