The sun is setting on the East Coast of the U.S., so it's that time.
Ever wanted to know how awesome your holiday season would be if the Festival of Lights happened to fall on Turkey Day? Your quest is over. Six13, an a capella collective claiming to be "the originators of today's Jewish a cappella sound" have created a "Thanksgivukkah Anthem" in order to teach an unofficial history of this epic night of festivities.
The song's YouTube description reads:
One should never understate the importance and historical significance of the semi-unprecdented phenomenon that is Thanksgivukkah. Happy Thanksgiving! Or for our non-U.S. fans: Happy Thursday!
To ALL: A very happy Chanukah. Chag Sameach!
So, break out your best silver (utensils and menorahs), get ready to feast (who says mashed potatoes and latkes are mutually exclusive?), and enjoy two vastly different traditions that just happen to coincide in this very special year.
