After an August tease, HBO released the full trailer today for the long-awaited second season of The Comeback, with Lisa Kudrow playing an alt-universe version of herself as a has-been former sitcom star. The highly satirical and often uncomfortable comedy originally aired in 2005 to mixed reviews. But over the years, the show has developed a devoted following and critical reassessment, with some placing it in their top 10 shows of that decade.
Now after a nearly 10-year lapse, The Comeback is making its own comeback with six new episodes that will follow Kudrow's kooky character Valerie Cherish as she is cast in…an HBO show, of course. The series, written and produced by Michael Patrick King (from the Sex and the City franchise) and featuring out actor Dan Bucatinsky (now infamous for his role on Scandal), will premiere on HBO Sunday November 9th.
