Check out Trailing, a sharp satire of the political consulting business. The series, which premiered this spring, can be found on Vimeo.
Trailing tells the story of Steven (above), a young gay man working for a nightmare boss at a struggling NYC consulting firm. Clients include city commissioners and a University of Phoenix student who's running for class president.
The humor of the series is comparable to Veep‘s political satire, and Girls‘ millennial ennui — not to mention a touch of Broad City's surreal whimsy.
Also like Girls, the series plays with autobiography — series creator/writer/star Steven Phillips-Horst doesn't only share a name with Trailing‘s protagonist. Horst used to work for NYC mayor Bill de Blasio. Read more about how the experience inspired him in this interview over at GQ.
Check out the trailer and first episode, embedded below. Again, the series lives on Vimeo, and can be found here.
