One incredibly talented visual communications student at the Bezalel arts school in Jerusalem decided to take drag to the skies for her final class project and the results are nothing short of fierce.
Tasked with branding an imaginary airline, Elia Chechick went all out on the flight safety video for her Priscilla Airways, which is based on visual style of camp classic Priscilla Queen of the Desert. The song itself is inspired by “Let's Have a Kiki” by Scissor Sisters.
Speaking with Ynet, Chechick shared how she managed to get a hold of the impressive set for the safety video shoot.
“It was a serious challenge to find a place to film the clip, because there aren't a lot of airlines based in Israel. I just tried to contact all the major companies, private planes, and anything else I could find. We got a lot of ‘no'. It took us a few months to find a place.
El Al gave us access to one of their flight attendant training aircraft, which was the ultimate place to film. Israir also wanted to help us, but their plane wasn't the right fit for the project. El Al were really great about it, and supported the shoot for 6 hours straight, and for free.”
