Donald Trump responded to Mitt Romney's scathing attack on his candidacy during a campaign rally on Thursday in Maine.
As has become typical of Trump rallies, Trump was interrupted several times by protestors who were then escorted out of the event.
Trump called Romney a “failed” presidential candidate who “begged” him for his endorsement in 2012. Perhaps the most memorable line of the speech was when Trump said of Romney, “You can see how loyal he is…I could have said Mitt, drop to your knees. He would have dropped to his knees.”
Romney again blasted Trump after his speech but before Trump took the stage in Maine, tweeting, “If Trump had said 4 years ago the things he says today about the KKK, Muslims, Mexicans, disabled, I would NOT have accepted his endorsement.”
