One World Trade Center was supposed to be lit in the black, red, and yellow colors of the Belgian flag like other monuments around the world in solidarity over yesterday's terrorist attacks, according to a memo from Governor Andrew Cuomo:

But evidence showed otherwise:

The Daily Mail displayed a gallery of other monuments lit for Brussels: “The Eiffel Tower in Paris, Brandenburg Gate in Berlin and the Trevi fountain in Rome were among those illuminated, just hours after explosions tore through Brussels Airport and a Metro station in the city center.”
The NYT reports: “Representatives from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, an owner of the tower, could not be reached on Tuesday night. Earlier in the day, a Port Authority spokesman said that “10 percent white light” would be used to approximate the black portion of Belgium's flag.”
The Empire State Building, across town, went dark to mark the bombings:
