Sia and Dolly Parton come together for “Here I Am”, a track that was originally featured on Parton's 1971 album Coat of Many Colors.
The collaboration is part of several (including Miranda Lambert, Mavis Staples, Elle King, Alison Krauss and Rhonda Vincent) on the soundtrack for Dumplin‘ a film recently acquired by Netflix about the plus-sized teen daughter of a former beauty queen for which Parton also contributed several original new songs written by Linda Perry.
Writes Billboard: “Adapted from the book by Julie Murphy, the film features collaborations and original music from Parton. The book references Parton throughout, including the opening lines that state that the best moments in the protagonist's life have started with a Parton song. The main character is named Willowdean, a reference to Parton's real-life sister, Willadeene.”
The soundtrack is out on November 30.
