It was a selection that perplexed many in the community who felt that a better role model might have been chosen to lead the 35th annual parade down Santa Monica Boulevard.
However, having lived recently in L.A. for seven years, and experiencing seven years of disappointment with West Hollywood’s uninspired, poorly executed street festival, I have to say that at least the addition of the Hiltons to the parade throws in an element of novelty that changes things up a bit. Perhaps it made a few people actually come and watch it. The parade has finally embraced its own freak factor.
So she’s a celebrity famous for doing nothing. Seems like this year’s choice fits the city’s image to a T.
