It's the Plumber, I've Come to Fix the Tourism

Tourism numbers are up in Poland because of wrench-toting hunk Piotr Adamski. "I am staying in Poland -- come on over," says the poster, featuring an image of Adamski dressed as a plumber. A 14 percent rise in tourism over the summer months is attributed to his invitation.
"The symbol of the Polish plumber, representing cheap labour from new EU member states, was vilified earlier this year during national referendum campaigns on the EU constitution, which was rejected by French and Dutch voters."
But the Polish tourism board knew that with cheap labour comes equally cheap thrills.

Go to Poland? No way!
A recent public opinion poll (conducted by the Demoskop Institute in July) showed that 55 percent of Poles hold a negative opinion of homosexuality, with only 27 percent expressing tolerance. Nearly one third of Poles showed allegiance to the view expressed by Walesa that homosexuality is a disease that requires medical treatment.A full 88 percent of Polish residents
surveyed said they did not know anyone who was lesbian or gay.
"I believe those people need medical treatment, imagine if all people were like that -- we wouldn't have any descendants,"- Former President Lech Walesa
And the Lesbians & gays situation will become worst with Poland's next president: Catholic conservative & populist LECH KACZYNSKI the actual mayor of Warsaw (a Bush wanna be).
After refusing the Gay Pride event in May, he gave his backing to a "Normality Parade" organized by right-wing "pro-family" groups and the ultra-right fascistoid All-Polish Youth organisation a few weeks later.
