Crystal Clear: Hohenthaner Cleans up its Act

Following our post last week on Hohenthaner's tasteless ad for gadget bedazzling, you wrote to them, a T-Mobile representative who reads the site became aware of the ad, and CBS News on LOGO did a report on it.
The result, above, as seen in the same publication. Nice work, everyone.
Hohenthaner did the right thing.

Personally, I thought the ad was kinda funny...mainly because I think people who "do" crystal and/or buy a crystal studded cell phone are both really stupid.

True, but still - how refreshing that a company/ad shop actually respond to feedback from the gay consumer rather than ignore it (MACY'S).
Hohenthaner's response is appreciated and noted (despite heinousness of crystal-laden cell phone).

My Bedazzler accomplishes the same thing with a lot less money.

Come on. No one is more anti-drug than me, but the thought police are getting out of control. This was a funny ad with no malintent. Have we really gotten to the place where we can't even joke about this kind of stuff? Ugh.

Although the original ad was (probably) done without any malicious intent, it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
It's almost as bad as cigarettes being equated to cancer sticks and photographing an anorexic model smoking like a chimney.
I'm glad some people listen.
But whatever, that thing is just tacky, anyway.

The most shocking element of this ad for me is the fact that There is a company named Hohenthaner that is in the business of bejeweling things. The Hohenthaner crystals shocked Crystal Hohenthaner.
