Mike Jones Fails Lie Detector Test on Ted Haggard But Test Administrator Doubts Test's Accuracy

MikemassageMike Jones, the gay escort who claims he had a three-year sexual business relationship with evangelical pastor Ted Haggard, failed to pass a lie detector test administered early this morning, but the test's accuracy is already begin questioned:

"The test administrator, John Kresnik, said Jones' score indicated 'deceptions' in his answers. However, Kresnik said he doubted the accuracy of the test he administered because of the recent stress on Jones and his inability to eat or sleep, according to KHOW producer Greg Hollenback. Kresnik suggested that Jones be re-tested early next week after he was rested."

Here is Good Morning America's coverage (via AmericaBlog) of the Haggard scandal which was run this morning. Jones claims that a fantasy Haggard told him about was "to have sex with about 6 young college guys ranging from 18 to 22 in age."

The shots above are from Mike Jones' "massage" business page.

  1. What the fuck? Haggard has already resigned, so it must be true. Strange indeed!

  2. I dunno, it's funny but I myself, have my doubts about Mike Jones'story. I guess it's because of the timing...So first Foley, and then that other guy and now a very homophobic televangelist? Who's next? Bush?

  3. Just because the timing is so "convenient" doesn't mean it's not true. The fact that Haggard resigned so quickly tells me more than the timing.

  4. I wonder if Mike's massages include "full release"?

  5. Polygraphs are notoriously unreliable and are per se inadmissible in courts in many states.

    Posted by: sam | Nov 3, 2006 1:22:27 PM

  6. Sam's exactly right. His "failure" means nothing...just like his "passing" wouldn't have meant much either. Years of trying and so-called polygraph "experts" have yet to convince courts that they can with any reliability distinguish a true answer from a false one.

Haggard's resignation speaks a helluva lot louder than this phony test.

  8. What, no comments about the hunky pictures?

  9. Aww, why didn't you post Mike Jones' hilarious "X-mas Surprise" picture?? A cuddly stuffed Santa bear 'tastefully' eclipsing his giant gluteus man-crack. A perfect holiday treat right before the elections!

  10. Haggard has seemingly admitted some of the allegations to his fellow churchies - specifics still unkown - so there's fire below all the smoke.

He called Mike Jones for crystal but he THREW IT AWAY!! He found out about Mike Jones JUST for a massage as a referral from a hotel...

Oh my god, you couldnt write this shit.

  12. ^Haggard was just interviewed on camera... sorry forgot to mention that.

    Posted by: mark m | Nov 3, 2006 2:10:35 PM

  13. If the guy were INNOCENT, he wouldn't have to resign, and in such haste too, would he? Seems like pretty straightforward deduction to me.

  14. Does it matter whether it is true or not now?

I believe that it is. Haggard has been brought down and has admitted to some wrongdoing given his position and the views of his congregation.

Moreover, this will likely impact some Evangelicals in that they will be disillusioned from voting.

Either way it has taken the focus off of Kerry.

  15. It gets better for the GOP!

  16. Mark M,

Do you have a link to that?

    Posted by: Jethro | Nov 3, 2006 2:20:15 PM

  17. Sorry Jethro... I just caught the interview live on CNN

    Posted by: mark m | Nov 3, 2006 2:21:51 PM

  18. Poodle,

But you know the traditional media is doing their damndest to keep the Kerry story in the spotlight by order of their puppetmasters, the RNC.

  19. Haggard just admitted, in an interview on CNN, that he tried to buy Meth from Mike Jones. But he said he didn't use it.

He also said that he didn't have gay sex with Jones.

So, to summarize: "I didn't inhale, and I did not have sex with that man."

    We've heard this before somewhere.

    Posted by: Joe | Nov 3, 2006 2:31:27 PM

  20. Dear Lord that was an awkward interview! And was that his wife in the passenger seat? Poor crazy Christian gal. He admits to buying meth but never used it (?), and went to have a "massage" from Mr. Jones, but didn't have sex with him. I wonder if he found Jones through his website...you know, the one where he says he has "the pleasure of the MAN in mind" and has a picture of himself naked with a stuffed animal against his ass. Is this a Swedish technique I haven't heard of? Oh there is certainly fire under this smokescreen.

  21. PS. I wouldn't mind getting a massage from Jones. Yesterday's photos were unflattering. Todays are much better.

    Posted by: Tread | Nov 3, 2006 2:32:57 PM

  22. UPDATE: "I called him to buy some meth, but I threw it away."

Direct quote from Haggard, from A CNN affiliate.

Mike Jones is live on CNN right now.

    Posted by: Joe | Nov 3, 2006 2:35:46 PM

  23. Just saw Jones on MSNBC. As the above poster have mentioned, he called a gay prostitute/escort for a "massage" (no day spas in Denver?) and bought the meth and tossed it.

Someone better get in there and take Haggard's shovel away before he digs himself any deeper. As is, he's about 20 feet from the Earth's core.
