News: Gay Spring Break, Morrissey, Peru, Princess Diana
American Family Association unleashes attack dogs on Sears for running pro-gay ad on LOGO.

USA was bugging Diana's phone on the night of her death, according to a report by former Metropolitan police commissioner Lord Stevens: "In a move that raises fresh questions over transatlantic agreements on intelligence-sharing, the surveillance arm of the US has admitted listening to her conversations as she stayed at the Ritz hotel, but failed to notify MI6. Stevens is understood to have been assured that the 39 classified documents detailing Diana's final conversations did not reveal anything sinister or contain material that might help explain her death."
University of Vermont suspends fraternity for anti-gay hazing: "Phi Gamma Delta is accused of serving drinks to underage students and making prospective members wear cowboy outfits while they were taunted with homophobic language during a party that had a theme based on the gay-themed movie 'Brokeback Mountain'."

Morrissey can still pack em in at Wembley.
Peru sees first same-sex union under auspices of British embassy: "Although the legal union between two adults of the same sex is not permitted in Peru, the couple was able to legally validate their partnership under British law. Peter Goad, a British citizen, and Marco Bretoneche, his Peruvian partner, both 42 years old, were wed last Thursday according to Mhol. 'Let this marriage serve as a precedent to Peru and let our union be recognized under the eyes of Peruvian law. We have the right to happiness, respect, and legal equality,' stated Bretoneche in a statement released by Mhol."

I don't watch Logo, but it amazes me that the AFA watches it.

Gay spring break would be better named gay spring beach party or some such
Spring break is embedded in the minds of americans as something specificaly high school and college oriented. Despit the name, this event is not for gay youths....expect 45+ tweekers strung out on meth trying to pretend they are high schoolers.
That said, a better event and one that would probably bring in more money and less polution and crime would be Gay families Spring vacation (Zeke, you and your entire family could go and enjoy the company of other gay families)...or Gay spring couples vacation...a ton more upwardly mobile gay people would go and there would be less meth floating around.

Could Brits please stop referring to it as 'marriage' - under British Law you're allowed to be same-sex 'civil unioned' not 'married'.
Anyway congrats to the couple on their new tax status.

Why shouldn't they refer to it as marriage? I know that the state I live in doesn't grant gay marriages, but thats not going to stop me in the future from having a wedding and refering to what my future husband and I will have as a marriage.

haha I actually helped make that LOGO ad. My friend and photographer David Morgan was commissioned to take the photographs of our friends house in Asbury Park, NJ. I just bought a brand new Mac Pro so Dave wanted to use my Mac and 30" Cinema display for the shoot, drove down, helped him set up, met all the producers and set directors and did the post-production editing with Aperture. I have a copy of the finished product on my system. Was a fun shoot over the Nov 3-4 weekend, and their house is GORGEOUS...

Man, Gay spring Break. I wish they had that when I was a teenager. These kids today have it all!

I've never even been to Key West.

Congrats Cory and your friend!
Justin..., I agree. Saying you are married when in fact you unionized gives people the impression that you have the EXACT rights as straight couples. That's why Denmark, Norway, and Sweden haven't created marriage for gay people even though it's been nearly 15-20 years since civil unions passed in those countries. People there believe the issue is over. Gay people still do not have the exact rights as straight people in those countries.

Totally unrelated to Cory's creative skills, why can't some gays organize a boycott of Logo sponsors simply because it has so many crappy shows? "Sex 2K Drag Kings"??? Oooh, oooh, my nipples are hard just thinking about that one. And the LA LA gays at Logo think that using the Q-word about 97,000 goddamn times makes them hip and makes up for the fact that they PG-edit everything. Tired.
"The Gayest and Greatest of 2006" features a group of "celeb gays" whom you've mostly never heard of. Question: What do Wilson Cruz and Alec Mapa have on the Gay Mafia that they keep showing up everywhere despite having absolutely no talent and, at most, 20 brain cells between them. Cruz is one of the commentators, and announces that he absolutely loved Barrack O'Bigot's book and, "if he runs for President, I will stop acting to work for him." Uh, Senorita Cruz: 1. I guess you skipped over the parts of the book in which he says he can't support gay marriage; and 2., WHEN did you ever 'act'? No, essentially playing yourself in 'My So-Called Life' doesn't count."
Michaelangelo, de Vinci, Whitman, Williams....Cruz. Ooops, I left out Reichen.

LOL Leland you are silly. But LOGO does inject "queer" into everything. I just realized that when you brought it up. And their shows aren't all that bad. I love me some Roundtrip Ticket. But, I mean, it's an MTV Network, right? Look at the programming on MTV.
