Bobby Brown Threatens British TV Host Over Gay Sex Joke
Bobby Brown, the first guest on the new UK show 24 Hours With..., in which host Jamie Campbell interviews a celebrity as they are locked together in a room for an entire day, threatened to become violent when Campbell joked about the idea of gay sex with the singer.
Transcript after the jump...
BROWN: They told me it was going to be like a prison.
CAMPBELL: How do I measure up to your cellmates?
BROWN: You're dangerous.
CAMPBELL: I haven't tried any sex moves on you yet.
BROWN: What the f**k do you mean sex moves? Do I Look like... You saying you haven't even tried any sex moves yet. Are you, are you...
CAMPBELL: Am I gay? Would it make a difference?
BROWN: Are you?
CAMPBELL: Why would it make a difference?
BROWN: You said to me, I ahven't even tried any sex moves on you yet. Yet? What the fuck you mean, 'yet'? I'm a grown-ass man. Yet? On live TV I will fuck you up. Trust.
CAMPBELL: I only meant it as a joke.
BROWN: Okay well you shoulda laughed afterwards. Cause I didn't laugh.
CAMPBELL: The conversation went, I said to you, 'do you think I'm an okay cellmate compared with the guys in prison. And you said, I think you're dangerous. And I said, and I haven't even tried any sex moves yet. It was just a joke.
BROWN: Can you answer the question though? Are you?
CAMPBELL: Would it matter to you if I was?
BROWN: You said, you haven't even tried any sex moves on me yet. Do you know I will fuck you up in here? Do you know that?
CAMPBELL: I mean, don't you disrespect me by suggesting that...
BROWN: Suggesting that what?
CAMPBELL: Suggesting that somehow my answer would make me less of a man in your eyes?
BROWN: I think you're less of a man for not answering.
CAMPBELL: I think it's like a joke. It as just a joke.
BROWN: (cracking knuckles) you know what would be more of a joke, you know what would be really more of a joke, if the 24 hours ended right now. That would be more of a joke.

Why do people keep inviting this train wreck onto television shows? He's had one minor hit in the music business, and that was a billion years ago. Let him fade into MC Hammer-like obscurity... please...

Umm, we are talking about crackhead Bobby Brown, right? Why is this so shocking? Come on. Is it sad? Yep. But is it unexpected? Nope.
The guy has lost everything: wife, family, home, and money. He's a scared, scramble-brained addict who only has the veil of his masculinity left. Take that away, what does he have? Zip.
Expecting more out of someone who has a history of severe drug abuse and alleged domestic violence is naive. It's like expecting Dick Cheney to give John Kerry a big bear hug: not likely.

Always let rough street trade make the first move--it helps them maintain their MANLINESS...even if they end up "bottoming" for you.

Bobby, relax. NO ONE WANTS TO FUCK YOU!!! Not even your ex-wife!
Besides... the host is waaaaaaaaaaaay hotter than you ever were or could ever hope to be. If he wanted to have sex with you, which I doubt, you'd be a lucky bastard.
Homophobia is ugly, but it is just plain hideous when it comes out of the mouth of a jackass like Brown.
Anyway, isn't he supposed to be in prison?

Stay classy, Bobby!!!!!

Bobby Brown's been watching too much Goodfellas:
(Pesci) Oh, oh, Anthony. He's a big guy, he knows what he said. What did you say? Funny how?
(Liotta) It's...
(Pesci) What?
(Liotta) Just... ya know, you're, you're funny.
(Pesci) What do ya mean, funny? Let me understand this cause, I don't know maybe it's me, I'm a little fucked up maybe, but I'm funny how? I mean, funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh... I'm here to fuckin' amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?
(Liotta) Just...you know how to tell the story, what?
(Pesci) No, no, I don't know... you said it. How do I know? You said I'm funny. How the fuck am I funny, what the fuck is so funny about me? Tell me, tell me what's funny!

So if it wasn't on live TV it would have been a different situation? I mean seriously you know he goes both ways or he would of answered the question.

Did Bobby even get that it was a joke, in reference to being in PRISON- gay sex with your cellmates. I'm sure he's seen Oz or something that lets him know what to expect in prison.

It's classic British understated, dry humo(u)r. It didn't translate.
And, sorry, but Campbell's joke wasn't funny, regardless. Maybe if Chris Tucker delivered the line...

I think the whole damned thing was offensive.
I find "jokes" about prison rape to be no less offensive than Bobby's homophobic over reaction.

Jamie Campbell and the crew of "24 Hours With..." were daft to even put this talentless tosser on their show and one cardinal rule is that if someone is possibly 'down low' you don't ask or infer about gay sex because they will beat you down for it!

imagine having a wash-up like bobby brown as your premiere guest on your debut telecast... such a depressingly dismal start.
campbell should just pack it in (so to speak).

Jeez, what a ghetto fucking loser! He's too stupid to even get the joke!
Posted by: shane | May 14, 2007 11:32:55 AM
I find it interesting that Bobby refers to himself as a grown man. He may be grown, but he is by no means a man. A real man wouldn't sue is ex-wife for spousal support. Bobby Brown is one of America's biggest losers and the sooner he ends up in prison--or better yet--draws his last breath, humanity will be approved by 100%

Zeke:
You're right; but remember, all sex in prison isn't by force, or even coercion, or even same sex sex(some places males and females somehow mangage to get together...how boring).
Posted by: Derrick from Philly | May 14, 2007 11:36:28 AM
Apparently David Gest is also going to appear on the show. So the real question is, why on earth would anyone ever want to watch it. They should just cancel it now.
Posted by: Eric | May 14, 2007 11:52:45 AM
That may be true Derrick, but I can't remember EVER hearing a "joke" about consensual sex in prison. Can you?
Posted by: Zeke | May 14, 2007 11:56:59 AM
Interesting points, Derrick!
Lame idea for a show. Could it all have been a stunt?

Dry English humour and Stupid Americans don't mix very well.
Posted by: mark m | May 14, 2007 1:37:51 PM
So, the pressing question is - is Jamie Campbell gay? He's kinda cute, yeah?
Posted by: Jordan | May 14, 2007 1:40:35 PM
I think Zeke is right as well. Why is a prison experience still an open invitation to stir up fear about unwanted gay sexual advances? The whole thing was a contest to see who would be the bigger asshole. But only one of them will help me free up space on my ipod.

BB is a fucking piece of shit. What a loser! Hey Bobby why don't you go pull someone else down and ruin their career and life! Dumb ass mo fo “I’ll fuck u up” Oh, you’re so bad little man! Fucking crack head loser. He was just irritated because he was locked up for 24 hours without any drugs!
Posted by: Deion | May 14, 2007 2:36:00 PM
I would expect Bobby Brown, an uneducated crackhead loser with a looooooooooong history of violence to threaten to beat up any guy who insinuated that he might sex him up. Yet Brown's threats of violence, while offensive, aren't nearly as offensive to me as something said by Jamie Campbell, a man who seems intelligent, educated, and articulate. In reviewing the conversation, Campbell asks an apparently rhetorical question of Brown. The question is: "Don't you disrespect me by suggesting that (I'm gay)". I'm much more offended by that than by anything Brown said.
Posted by: peterparker | May 14, 2007 3:26:32 PM
PETERPARKER, I think you misunderstood what he said. He said, Shouldn't I be offended....that my answer could make me less of a man in your eyes. [paraphrase]
I think he was saying, "shouldn't I be offended that you would think me less of a man if I were to say I was gay." That is very different than him saying "Don't you disrespect me by suggesting that (I am gay).
The latter infers that the disrespect is in the assumption of gayness whereas the former (which is what I think he intended) is that the disrespect is in thinking that a gay person is less of a man.
I could be wrong but I don't think so.
Watch it again and tell me what you think.
