Looks Like He's "Made It": Ne-Yo Not Gay
Last August, rumors that R&B singer Ne-Yo was going to come out of the closet in an issue of Essence magazine were quashed by both the singer's publicist and reps from Def-Jam records.
Now, Ne-Yo slams the rumors himself to the Albany Times-Union:
"Anybody who knows me, knows I'm not gay. I'm blessed to have very, very, very real people in my corner. Some managers will not tell the artist certain things because they don't want to stress them out. My managers are like, 'Yo, it's a dirty game.' I respect them for that. I look at that as I've officially made it. If my name is in your mouth, that means I'm on your mind. I take it all in stride."
The Times-Union does, however, make note of key tracks on the singer's new release Because of You: "'Go on Girl' is the album's undeniable highlight."

everytime i see Ne-Yo i say "if Ne-Yo ain't a woman" lol...i mean...if he were gay do you think he would actually come out of the closet???

Isn't it funny--I had to go to into Andy's achive to find out what gender this person is. Never heard of him before, but then I aint young no more.

Ne-Yo is one of the biggest R&B singers today. He gets huge airplay and MTV/BET rotation. Last year, a camera phone video showing him receiving oral sex from a chick was "leaked" on the internet. He is a major music star today.

Ah, yes, and that camera phone leak coincidentally happened the same week the gay rumors started. But thank God Ne-Yo finally cleared up this whole thing in an interview...though, really, he needn't have bothered. When you see him furiously twirling in his new video for "Because Of You," it definitely comes across as *straight* twirling.

...Ne-Yo penned one of the bigger gay anthems of late: Beyonce's "Irreplaceable." I found it peculiar a straight guy could write such a bitchy song...ah well.

Do you happen to think there's anything wrong with being gay? Cause you sure enjoy reporting stories of D-listers issueing denials of their homosexuality.

Zach, I think Andy's own sentiments about this inning are summarized in the last paragraph, so I'm reading the earlier verb choices as sarcastic.

Oh boy....Like it matters one bit whether or or not Ne-Yo is gay! I like some of his songs and I think he's an okay dancer. Whether or not he swings both ways is really not on my "TO THINK ABOUT" list. LOL!

Gay or not he is still getting paid; while we're debating his sexuality. "get that dough, NE-YO!" The moral of the story people is when will the heterosexuals learn that the gays run the industry. They have for centuries. DAH!!!!!!!!!!
