Best gay blog. Towleroad Wins Award

Passions Takes it into the DL Gay Bedroom

Sure, it's daytime TV, but this down-low scene between Passions' Chad and Vincent is probably not SFW in most situations.

PassionsThis is certainly the most steamy gay action I've seen on a soap, complete with a groan-worthy Brokeback reference.

What you don't see in this clip, and what I gathered from the synopsis at the show's website is that Chad (the one who's getting up to go) threatens Vincent with the gun moments later for threatening to spill the beans on their affair.

  1. Wow, that was disgusting.

Is it for real? I can't believe that NBC, who won't air my church's gay supportive ad, would air that trash.

Yet another portrayal of the good, married heterosexual who is the victim of a coniving and underhanded homo who forces him to do what he doesn't want to do, and makes him cheat on the real love of his life.

It's more of the same old, "gay is a choice" and "all gay people are straight people who have gone bad because they've been lured away from heterosexuality by devious, recruiting perverts" crap!

NOTHING about this will be positive for our community.

  2. Steamy? Nothing happened.

  3. There's also a hermaphroditic serial killer/peeping tom/rapist.

  4. What scene?! Oh please!! That was a non-scene. The only person we see is Vincent seemingly having a seizure (I know Chad was nowhere near that scene), and they're quickly replaced by a straight couple getting at it! Steamy? Uummh...Seen steamier!! That was just a ridiculous scene.

  5. It's crap like this that makes me miss David and Keith on Six Feet Under...or dare I say it, even the QAF crowd. But then I don't expect much from NBC, the network that gave us chastrated eunuchs for 8 seasons and called it "groundbreaking" television.

  7. Chad's a good-looking guy, but the dude who plays Vincent may as well be a woman.

  8. What bugs me about it is that they only did this storyline because they've cancelled the show. Our production assistant watches this every day while she eats lunch. The day the cancellation was announced our office broke into applause. I immediately said, "You wait they'll go crazy or do some really different (for a soap) storyline."

Bold? Daring? Usually only when you've been cancelled.

  10. I confess to watching this show off and on. It is the worst show in the history of TV and that's not hyperbole. It's bad beyond belief. It's not "so bad, it's good" or "so bad, it's funny" or "so bad, it's ironic". It's horrible in every way...take my word for it. There's even a fun message board on Google that berates the show with humor.

  11. I wonder how much gayer the show will get now that DirecTV saved it at the 11th hour.

  12. John: Ok, at first I thought you were talking about "chaste eunuchs". You put us down and them woulda' been fighting words.

  13. That wasn't gay anything - - it was sad, homophobic, dysfunction packaged for straight people. I'm sure it'll win A GLAAD award...

  15. There are also pplenty of prison/shower scenes featuring the lopz-fitzgerald brothers. Love the show. Bad acting and over wrought performances and whacky storylines, love it! Vincent, Chad's lover is practically a woman like sgr said. They also have a lesbian character who is somewhat normal but that's soap land. Why can't we be villains also?

  16. I was wondering what the hell was up with this show. I try to catch it every day cause some of the guys are hot as HELL, but the storylines are really lame, and the acting is laughable. I didn't know if it was a comedy at first or what.

Now that I know it's been cancelled makes sense. They're just throwing in the towel, and all bets are off. Most of them probably realize they can't act their way out of a paper bag, so they don't even try any more.

The prison storylines were quite hilarious and very gay. Very hot guys, and girls pretending to be guys, horrible acting, but pretty guys nonetheless, and a shower scene, too! This show's so bad, you actually feel like you've lost IQ points simply from watching it.
