Mitt Romney Gay Pride Memorabilia

A pack rat tipster to RomneyFacts sent in this flier he received from a Romney campaign volunteer during the 2002 Boston gay pride, when Mitt was running for governor:

"All citizens deserve equal rights regardless of their sexual preference."

  2. Isn't it old news that politicians will say whatever they have to to get elected?

  6. You can’t make too much of the depravity of the leaders of this country even if you’re way overmedicated.

Until recently Mitt Romney’s Utah based fundraiser was Robert Lichfield. Lichfield runs a group of christian/LDS youth reeducation camps. He was forced to resign as Romney’s fundraiser when he became the defendant in a federal lawsuit charging that students at these "behavior modification” camps suffer "physical abuse, emotional abuse and sexual abuse." No doubt the worst abuse was reserved for the worst sinners - young gays and lesbians, some in their very early teens.

The lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for Utah contends that the children forced into these camps by their self-righteous and incompetent parents for being ‘ungodly’ were kicked, beaten, thrown to the ground, imprisoned in animal cages, made to eat their vomit, instructed to clean toilets with a toothbrush and then brush their teeth with it, and forced into sexual acts.

That’s the real thing – that’s repulsive and perverted.

Republicans (the Repugnant Party) are baboons in people suits with a totalitarian christian attached at the hip. Democrats (the Deceitful Party) are Republicans in drag. Which ever one wins we end up paying the price - dying in wars, suffering discrimination, coping with a lowered standard of living, or just drowning when the levees break.

  7. I'm surprised there's not more news about Mitt's flip-flopping. He has a long and well-known history in MA of saying whatever needs to be said to get into office. Slimy as fuck.

  8. Like many politicians in the Republican Party, Mitt will sell out our human rights in order to get elected. Nothing surprising from the former governor of MA who used to travel around the country making jokes about his state.

  9. That would be Mitt "Light Switch" Romney.

    Flip, flip, flip, flip....

  10. God above Mitt Romney is a massive tool. Although this is probably the only interesting thing to come out of Boston Pride in ages....

  11. The question is whether any Republican running against him is brave enough to use this in a campaign ad against Mitt R.

This is the first I've heard of Lichfield, though so many child abuse witchhunts have turned out to be utterly baseless that one must be highly skeptical of the often extraordinary claims made at these trials. And guilt by association would mean that Hillary would have to confess to the crimes of John Hsu as well. I will agree to the standard that politicians are guilty until proven innocent, however.

  13. Flip-flopping from a Massachusetts politician? Say it ain't so!

  14. I am from Massachusetts and Mitt had agreed to accept Civil Unions as a compromise to marriage (which we essentially had at the time). I guess he knew marriage for LGBT may actually stick, so he agreed to take Civil Unions.
