Faker Lead Singer Nathan Hudson No Longer a Faker: I'm Gay
Unlike Silverchair's Daniel Johns, Nathan Hudson (center), lead singer of the Australian alt pop band Faker, did tell the world he's gay over the weekend.
Said Hudson: "My association with being gay was that it was bad and dark and not good for you. I had trouble finding people to look up to. I’m happy to talk about being gay for that kid in the suburbs who’s 15 and scared."
Congrats to Hudson on coming out into the light.

Good for him. I don't listen to this band (maybe I will) but I'm happy he is happy with who he is now. It's an individual journey and as much as the community wants everyone to just come out, people have to do it on their own time.

These two posts, read back to back, almost aspire to the condition of poetry.
One's about a defensive hetero Aussie male who's clearly burned people think he's a poof (as if those nasty blond highlights screamed anything but straight).
And the other’s about a much better-looking empathetic Aussie gay guy who wants to inspire and be a role model for other people.

Now what's up with the Asian punk chicks in the Cirque du Avian flu Sick Ward getups? Are they another band we just don't know about...or did Shonen Knife get back together and now they sing about diseases and shit instead of food (when they're not lip syncing for whiteboys, of course)?

Never heard of the band, but the lead singer's cute. I kinda like the song too.

Wish there were public figures like that 25 years ago who were so concerned when I was a f/u 15 year old. Thank God the world is changing. Just not fast enough. We need to be in a place where 15 years olds don't even have to even think about it, they can just be themselves.

I've heard that the bass player has also come out. I had'nt really heard much of their stuff, but they were pretty good at the Big Day Out.
