Ryan Phillippe, Channing Tatum and Co. in Stop-Loss
Promo images for the film Stop-Loss, about an Iraq war veteran (Ryan Phillippe) sent back to Iraq for a second tour of duty) have begun to trickle out. Here are a few new ones featuring the cast (Rob Brown, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Phillippe, Channing Tatum, and Victor Rasuk) as well as a few solo shots of Phillippe and Tatum.
The film is co-written and directed by Kimberly Peirce, who as you may remember, directed the much lauded a999 film Boys Don't Cry. The film's site has been up for a while and has already generated nearly 300 comments on the Stop-Loss policy, which is the involuntary extension of a servicemember's enlistment contract. When I saw Phillipe in 'Breach', I was surprised at what a fine actor he is. I was expecting another pretty boy without any substance. I hope that he does as well in this role, too.

It's a good topic and the guys are mmm-HOT. I hope the acting/producing, etc. is good. It's an important subject.

Before reading the article, at first glance, I thought this about a new boy band. They so look like O-Town: Version 2.0.

Kimberly Pierce is directing a war film? You know what means, another 'scathing' liberal indictment of the war in Iraq...These movies NEVER do well...take it away Laura Ingraham.

I too like everyone pictured except Victor Rasuk because I don't know who he is. But I hope this is for the role because Rob Brown got huge, vertically and horozontally. Cute, but massive. If you like 'em like that, there you go.

I liked Boy's Don't Cry but I'd rather see these guys directed by Chi Chi LaRue...

So they cast all these hot white boys and ONE Black guy who is clearly there as the non-sexy, obligatory sidekick (as usual). I hate Hollywood.

Having Channing Tatum, Ryan Phillipe, and Joseph Gordon Levitt is enough to make me want to watch this. Not to mention I am a huge fan of Kimberly Pierce's work and am really interested to see what she does with this movie.
