Police in Saudi Arabia Raid 'Gay Party' and Arrest 55

In June, I reported on a police raid in which 21 men were detained while at a party at a rst house in Qatif, in eastern Saudi Arabia. A similar incident happened this week:

Saudiarabia"According to a report on the Arab satellite TV channel, al-Arabiya, two young men were allegedly found wearing women's make up and dancing on stage together. The detainees were all handcuffed when they were arrested. Saudi police said during their search they found drugs and alcohol and other items that are prohibited under the country's strict Sharia law. A similar police blitz was carried out more than a month ago at another farmhouse in the same area where 21 alleged homosexuals were arrested. Some of those arrested were Filipinos and Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia. Many of them were reportedly wearing women's clothes and makeup at the party which was organised to celebrate the birthday of one of the group's members. On that occasion, religious police found alcohol, clothing and makeup hidden inside."

  1. :We should start our own version of Al Qaeda. Pink Al Qaeda with drag queen suicide bombers. We'll make Saudi Arabia our first destination, then we'll move on to Southern Baptist Convention: using grenades hidden inside tambourines. My peace-makin' days are over. It's a jihad for queens.

  2. Sounds like a tranny party, not a gay party. There is a distinction.

  3. Derrick, I can definitely understand where you're coming from. Sometimes ignorant people just need to die.

Interestingly, Saudi Arabian gays are actually some of the more active members on Arabic message boards. It's kind of ironic that the most repressed Arab country has the most rebellious population, but I suppose it makes a lot of sense.

Not to the Saudis and maybe 80% of the rest of the people on the planet Earth. You got some heavy public relations work to do, BLUEBLUR.

I mentioned the Southern Baptist Convention to remind folks that no matter what we read coming out of Africa, the Caribbean and the Arab countries, we've got our own brand of anti-gay holy-roller vigilantes. If Western homophobes could, they'd also throw us in jail. They just don't have that kind of power anymore, and past gay activists must receive credit for that--some were transgenderd gay activists, BLUEBUR.

  5. I've never heard the term "religious police" but it certainly could be applied to many elected politicians in the United States.

I thought the same, Blueblur. And it makes me think that the truth lies in one of two possibilities... Either SOMEBODY (either the Saudi religious police or the journalist} doesn`t know what the words mean and is mislabeling what`s actually going on... or the authorities are cooking up false details. They may think that inventing stories of finding lipstick and mascara at a party will assist them in getting the public to sympathize with them and to hate those who were arrested, even though it sounds fishy that they ALWAYS seem to ``find`` such items.

  8. i once worked in saudi arabia..... these kind of parties are not as what you think it is.... i often attended parties with some filipinos and other nationals working there. i tell you it is all male no female. and yes sometimes someone can produce alcohic beverages from grape(wine) and sometines as the party goes on one or two or three would make fun dressing as female just for a laugh since no female around. and everyone is happy. but that it is. so to those who where get caught dressed as female.... most likely hes gonna get rape in the jail by these sex starved saudinians(guard or police). if you are a guy a good looking foreign male working there and you lokk kinda feminine even if you are not gay oh boy you better grow a mostauche or else.....your ass will
