John McCain: Unfit to Lead

The McCain ad we'd likely see if Rove was running the Obama campaign. Watch it, AFTER THE JUMP...

Sweet, but I think it's like preaching to the choir.

McCain is whining in the wind. What the hell makes him think he is qualified to run this country. He is qualified to be a war hero. Obama has run an unbelievably well managed campaign, served years in Illinois senate and three years in US Senate. McCain has been in prison camp and the US Senate. While in the US Senate he has voted for less taxes for the rich and corporations over and over. He is also a war fanatic.

But obviously, Rove is a low-down scalawag and no one on the left would do such an ad, so we didn't really just see it...but if we had, it would just goes to show that the people on the left are no different than those one the right.
Both sides can eat shit.
Posted by: paul | Aug 15, 2008 6:46:15 PM
Oh, and before the Log Cabin comments start flying my way, please note that I said BOTH sides can eat shit.
McCain is just as retarded as the imaginary ad suggests...and yet he is the top of his party...while the other side continues to pretend to be so above it, knowing full well that surrogates like the person who made the video and the person who runs this blog will get the same type of messages out there that they all pretend to despise so much.
No wonder we have a government of idiots, liars and hypocrites.

Paul,
are you stupid? If you can't see the difference between a CAMPAIGN creating and sanctioning ads in the vein of the one above, and some random person throwing something together for Youtube you're a lost cause.

i wonder what the king is doing tonight
Obama is enjoying his vacation at his beautiful beachfront rental home, sun bathing on the beach and body surfing as Russia invades Georgia.

I laughed so hard my buttplug fell out. Oh wait, that was Barak Obama.
Ever stop and ask yourself why the least qualified candidate for the dems got nominated? Hmmm.....lets think about that one real hard. A bunch of self-loathing, guilty, white libs sitting around in a room (excuse me, a caucus) all trying to prove to eachother how progressive they are. Funny how HRC won the actual elections, but the party rules stole the nomination from her.
Obama has NO EXPERIENCE. He's a first term senator who's spent more than half of that term running for president. Before that he played local politician and "community organizer" (whatever that is) in the most corrupt city in the union - Chicago. All of his friends and connections demonstrate SERIOUSLY bad judgment (I'm sure Jeremiah Wright really loves the gays....Guys like him tend to), and despite his great oratory skills he offers no new answers. Next time you hear the word change, ask yourself "what is this change he speaks of?" It's all soundbites and posturing, wrapped up in an American Idol media blitz.
Posted by: BD | Aug 15, 2008 9:34:44 PM
Please, BD. Accept the fact that Hillary LOST by millions of votes. She was bereft of a single idea, ran her campaign into the ground, and managed to waste hundreds of millions of dollars. Ready on day one.
Posted by: Tom | Aug 15, 2008 9:54:39 PM
Jason, work on your reading comprehension skills and then ask me again.
Just as Bush did four years ago, while the Switboaters went after Kerry and cost him the election, now Obama pretends to be above it, while "SURROGATES like the person who made the video and the person who runs this blog will get the same type of messages out there that they all pretend to despise so much."
The Left = The Right. Two sides of the same coin who play politics like a sport of one upsmanship while Russia invades Georgia, Bush finishes out his second term without an impeachment and the economy goes down the shitter because of mismanagement at every level of government.
But I'm the stupid one because I hate hypocrisy? I'm certainly in the minority around here.
Posted by: paul | Aug 15, 2008 10:29:37 PM
Try again, Paul.
Neither this video, this blog, nor anything like them, is going to get anywhere NEAR the attention that the Swiftboaters and their ilk got four years ago. There is no concerted effort to "swiftboat" McCain from anyone on left. Surely that is obvious. Just look at all the attention the anti-Obama book has gotten, yet nary a peep about the analogous McCain "expose." And this video is not from an Obama surrogate, btw.

DAVEY,
I wonder what you're (not) doing tonight. Didn't feel like hitting up the Westside Club?
Posted by: Nick | Aug 15, 2008 11:28:08 PM
Paul,
your argument is moot. You say this video is hypocrisy but to say that is to suspend reality and act as though the blow horns of the left and right are of equal volume. The MAIN reason behind the success of the Swift Boaters success in smearing John Kerry was a completely complicit media. They will allow NO SUCH THING to happen to John McCain. So every gaffe and goof, every book about "The Real McCain," and certainly every video and blog post such as this one will conveniently disappear into a black hole, or more likely, never even see the light of day.
No, the only thing this video does, and other ventures that you'd probably term "smears," is to try and level the playing field by broadcasting the truth about McCain that no one else dare speak.

I have enjoyed over the years being able to come to a site that reported news that you did not hear about on the evening news regarding gay topics. Now every time I connect to this site it is mostly about anti Mc Cain reteright (yah I think I spelled that wrong, get over it). I'm not a demorcrate, I fall a lot closer to a Republican. I run/own a bussiness that employes 30 some people. If Obamas tax plan becomes a reality, I will be forced to let go at least 12 employes just to break even(I had to talk with my accountent to figure that out) . I'm trying to grow as a bussiness, I'm not rich, I progresivly employ LGBT people. It is not the Federal Governments responsibility to take care of everyone or decide what our rights are,. Send your support to California and our new found right to marry, I'm taking advantege of it with my "domestic Partner" of six years. Mc Cain said it is a states right to choose, He said he would not support a constitutional amendment, I have to look out what is best for me. Obama has offerd me nothing I don't have but bankrupcy. I Don't Like Mc Cains pandering to religious zelouits, but ultimately, they won't effect me.

John, there are so many glaring spelling errors in your post, I find it hard to believe that you own a business that employs 30+ people. I imagine someone with an accountant would know how to spell it. Bankruptcy, advantage, McCain's zealots (not spelling of those words). Can your employees spell the word employee? I'd hope so. Or maybe you are a republican who goes on popular blogs to stir up McCain support and muddy the waters of Obama's popularity. Either way, you've got issues.

i laughed so hard when they talked about the !! 3rd !! plane he wrecked. hahaha!! oh wait - he was a POW so i guess i can't say anything negative about him. OBAMA '08 !!

John,
You make up part of the economic backbone of this country and it is entirely commendable that you look after your own interests first.
May I suggest that you check out these two articles correlating the Presidential party affiliation and the economy; it might surprise you.
(I do find it questionable that your accountant has already decided that 12 people need to be cut from your business. What possible business economic model was he going by when nothing has been set in stone? Buddy, you might want to try a new accountant.)

BD, your analysis is full of sh-t. This is not about liberal white guilt. You discount the many any people of color and white working class people (outside of Appalachia) who helped Obama get the nomination, not to mention the fact that a lot of us Obama supporters actually (shocking revelation, I know) think he's right on the issues! Hillary supporters should come to the realization that the Clinton campaign was shockingly unprepared, off-message and disunified (see the memos at The Atlantic), just like McCain's campaign appears right now. Do you realize how out of it you sound when you say, "Hillary had it in the bag except for the damn rules..." Plan by the rules and play by the rules, and maybe next time Hillary will come off the better for it. You obviously don't like Obama, have understandable doubts about his years of experience as well as lingering resentment over Hillary's loss, and probably won't vote for him, but you gotta admit, the boy manages a well-tooled campaign, and that translates to both money and voter confidence.
Also, just as a side note, Jeremiah Wright IS supportive of gay rights and the gay community, which is actually one of the reasons Obama says he was initially drawn to Wright's congregation. Do some research; it's fun for everyone.

Also, belittling someone's time as a POW is pretty tasteless, even if he was given different treatment. Of course that is what Rove and the Swiftboaters would do, but we should insist that our political discourse isn't dragged down to that level. Let's shoot for standards even in non-official ads, not a cynical tit-for-tat that will justify anything and everything.

Georgia INVADED South oestia first under the cover of the opening of the olympics and got royaly smaked by Russia
South Oestia declared its indipendence in the late 90's from Georgia. declared its desire to be reunited with north Oestia in Russia and become part of Russia.
South oestians have Russian passports and citizenship
Georgia attacked south oestia and south oestia cried out for help and protection from russia.
Russia has been heavy handed = YES, but georgia was/ is the agresor and criminal in this.
The US/ mccain is also the criminal in this because of the oil and gas pipelines going through the area controled and managed by US intrests. That is the only reason we care and why we most likely pushed Georgia to attack and try to bring South Oestia under Georgian control.
No oil and gas there and mcshame would have instead said "none of us are Georgians today and they can all go f themselves."
The few interviews with South Oestians hitting US news all have them stating that the Russians are saving them from the Georgians. The US news reporters shot the other day were shot by Georgian troops
When you get who the aggressor is right, then we can properly discuss what response Obama should present

Hey jimmyboyo, whats up. I wanted to simply state that when there is talk of a possible new cold war…this is not the best time to be on vacation, it sends a bad message…it tells us you don’t care, anyway…just my opinion...but also, do you think the georgians want to fight? Russia is determined to turn Georgia into the kind of vassal state that existed in the region during Soviet times…the georgians have been through enough already ..Russia is the aggressor here..
Posted by: daveynyc | Aug 16, 2008 3:01:23 PM
DaveyNYC:
Not the best time to be on vacation, it sends a bad message. But Obama's not the President (yet). Bush is. And where is he? He finally left the Olympics for... Crawford!
Georgia was not a "vassal state" in Soviet times. It was the Soviet Socialist Republic of Georgia, i. e. PART of the Soviet Union. It even provided one of its leaders, one Mr. Dzhugashvili, aka Stalin (not that that helped the Georgians much). The Georgians have been through a lot. But so have the Abkhazians and the South Ossetians. (and I say this as a BIG Georgiophile)
The best analogy of what happened is Kosovo. When Serbs tried to consolidate control over Kosovo, which is legally part of Serbia, NATO (mostly the US) attacked to defend the Kosovo Albanians. When Georgians tried to consolidate control over South Ossetia, Russia attacked to defend the South Ossetians.
At least one Russian gay group, lgbtrights, has demonstrated against the war. http://lgbtrights.ru/eng/

Obama is taking 1 vacation to spend time with his daughters and wife.
Mcshame takes every single weekend off. His own campaign states that mcshame takes every single weekend off so he isn't overworked (age)
The georgians wanting to fight? Yes and no. yes in that they attacked first. No in that they banked on Mcshame's chief strategist on foreign relations being payed $290,000 in lobbyist fees since January 2008 to protect them. They banked on bush's oil connections and the oil and gas pipelines in the area causing the US to retaliate against Russia and thus protecting them from their attacking first.
Georgia rolled the dice and lost. They screwed up big time.
Russia has been heavy handed in its retaliation/ defense of the South Oestians, but they are the defenders and not the aggressors in this f up.
In the end this makes Wesley Clark look better as a VP choice for Obama. His being Supreme Commander of NATO under Clinton provides a lot of experience with the region and the situation. If not Hillary then I am totaly loving the idea of General Retired Wesley Clarkas Obama's VP.
Posted by: Jimmyboyo | Aug 16, 2008 4:37:25 PM
I too would love to see Wesley Clark as VP. I just don't see Hillary taking the job, even if it were offered. Not to mention Bill's seething resentment at being the vice president's husband; he wants to be back at (or at least near) the top again.

Paul R
The cool thing about the retired general is his public 100% support for us gays since 2000
Total revoking of DADT and 100% equal marriage rights for gays.
He is even better for us publicly than Obama, and I am a total Obama fan.
He graduated valedictorian at West Point as vs mcshames 5th from the bottom. Rhode Scholar Oxford. Took economics. As supreme commander of NATO under Bill he definetly developed managerial skills. Totaly a Clinton surrogate which goes a long way to soothing the Clintons themselves and supporters still feeling bruised from the primaries and if Hillary isn't VP. NATO experience goes to rebuilding our alliances as well as having experience with the area as far as Georgia vs Russia. Totaly against invading Iran!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That one is big. Was called an anti-semite by lieberman because of it, but the perfect response was/ is Clark's great grandfather was a Jew who fled persecution in Beleruse
He also isn't hard on the eyes for a silver haired 64 yr old.
In my loony opinion, Obama couldn't do better than Clark if he doesn't go with Hillary
