Obama Responds to McCain Debate Postponement Stunt

Barack Obama responded to McCain's call for a postponement of the debates in a press conference (something McCain has avoided for 40 days now) this afternoon.

ObamaSaid Obama: "With respect to the debates, it’s my belief that this is exactly the time when the American people need to hear from the person who, in approximately 40 days, will be responsible for dealing with this mess. And I think that it is going to be part of the president’s job to deal with more than one thing at once. I think there’s no reason why we can’t be constructive in helping to solve this problem and also tell the American people what we believe and where we stand and where we want to take the country."

  1. Titus--Obama can be in Washington Friday afternoon for Senate session, and still make it to Ole Miss for the debate...Presidents don't get to call "time out" when crises present themselves. JFK maintained his public schedule even during the Cuban Missile Crisis, perhaps the mother of all Presidential crises we've seen to date...

By the way, McCain said just last WEEK that the "fundamentals of the American economy are sound." TODAY, however, he remarked that we could enter a Great depression by MONDAY if the bailout doesn't get passed. What to make of that? Or, how now brown cow?!

  2. Thanks for the interview JASON (A).

I love how she tries to avoid answering a question. Her answers don't even match the questions so much that it feels like the interview is edited with different parts. Damn, she is a fucking idiot!

  4. McCain's ongoing breakdown is truly sad to see. But it's good for America. People see McCain's latest stunt for what it is.

Obama is going to win by too large a margin for the election to be stolen, this time.

  6. US voters are often moronic, but they at least demand access to their candidates. McCain and Palin are going down, no question.

And Queen, shut up already. Your constant "joke" about holding onto our tampons is pathetic and your assessment of politics is even worse.

  7. Dear hacker, please use Consuelo with an 'O' instead of Consuela with an 'A' so you can really eff with the vermin. Off with their heads!!!

  8. I wonder why Obama didn't take McCain up on his offer to do a series of Town Hall meetings?

  9. In just five minutes with Katie Couric Governor Sarah Palin has reminded me why she is right up there with current President George W. Bush in making me wonder out loud just how these seemingly (trying to be nice) far from intelligent individuals have made it so far in the political world -- it simply astounds me.

  10. well, THE QUEEN, i don't know about hackers, but i can't imagine who or why anyone would want to imitate your feckless, hapless burlesque. i cannot abide your schtick, and i do not suffer fools gladly. you know, two (three? four?...) can play your game. uneasy lies the head that wears the crown, after all.

  12. The reason Obama refused to do town hall meetings is because McCain is a control freak, and Obama does not give deference to a person that push demands on him. Today McCain pulled the little "I want to suspend my campaign and suspend the debates," hoping that Obama would follow his lead. But Obama did the Presidential thing and suggested that a Washington trip could happen and the debate also - multi-tasking. Obama's decision of how to handle the situation was exactly right. McCain is probably embarrassed, and rightfully so. It's not over yet though. The Repubs are dirty and sneaky people.
