Conservatives Begin the Blame Game with McCain

BlamemccainJed Lewison at The Jed Report is tracking the number of Republicans who appear to be "jumping ship, pointing fingers, or otherwise abandoning the McCain campaign."

The list is at 39 and counting.

He's also put together a video of conservatives blaming McCain, AFTER THE JUMP...

  1. Yeah, these scumbags are just taking a position to be able to point fingers at the McCain campaign and pretend that their failed policies didn't contribute to a projected McCain defeat. That way, they can all retain their high-paying positions as talking, lying douchebag on Fox, the WSJ, or the NY Times.

The Rethugs talk, talk, talk about personal responsibility but none of them ever want to take the blame for their misdeeds. It's always the evil liberals, gays, black, Latinos, or scapegoat in their own party. But Conservativism uber alles!

Wouldn't it be nice for these people who worshiped the Market take responsibility that their god was nothing more than idolatry? These are some of the same people who also championed George W. Bush's imperial presidency! Gee, if you bow to a king and celebrate all his decisions even with no threat of violence, doesn't that make you a loyal collaborator?

Sorry, Bush deserves blame but so do all of the enablers like Kristol, Limbaugh, Rollins, etc. They defended their king fiercely, calling dissenters traitors (just ask the Dixie Chicks or Valerie Plame), or worse.

Yeah, McCain has run a lousy campaign but his fellow conservatives helped to bloody him up with their decades-long policies of trickle (like urine?) economics, blind loyalty, corruption, and embracing of hatred.

That said, I'm sorry to say, don't count McCain out. The good die young, and evil live long happy lives. We don't know what mischief the GOP is going to pull in the next 3 weeks.

  2. I've been saying all along...McCain is a sacrificial lamb.

  3. Don't worry, John! You can still count on Las Vegas and Nobama and Brucie and Racist Johnny Lane.

  4. Oh 24 kiss my ass...and I mean that in a non-partisan way.

I might be willing to concede that McCain was cannon fodder for this election cycle. If this was true then the Democrats have been had and things are going to be very interesting.

Following this theory Obama has about 16 months to make things happen or he can sit for his portrait and start packing. Why 16 months. The electorate is going to give a brief honeymoon period maybe 150 days tops. After that point if he has not moved on things the vultures will start circling.

Now, the gay community will sit back and throw their legs in the air to this man every time. He won't act on DOMA or DADT until he is pushed hard or has nothig to lose at that point. Forget about marriage or anything to do with it...too controversial and not nearly enough of a priority. Besides he already bought those votes and can readily excuse lack of action on the Republicans which the gay community will buy hook lie and sinker. At the year and a half to two year mark about the time of the next set of Congressional elections the race for the White House will begin again.

Obama will inherit a wrecked economy, a two front war, a disenfranchised electorate who is weary of politics, and a hostile Republican Congress who see him as nothing short of a terrorist. Think many judges will get appointed?

If Obama wins it will not be the type of landslide mandate that Clinton or Regan won with to allow him to sweep into office and be the savior o man kind liberals think he is.

He could wind up the jester in all of this and be just a footnote of history. So all of you out there wishing and hoping...be careful what you wish for...you may get it.

  5. Las Vegas, you haven't been laid in a really long time, have you?

    Posted by: crispy | Oct 14, 2008 11:24:53 AM

  6. On the other hand, Las Vegas, you might be a little bit wrong, and Obama with a like-minded congress just MIGHT get a lot of good things accomplished. And people just MIGHT like that and re-elect him. I don't have the power of foretelling the future that you feel you have....

  7. Oh, we're definitely getting it, Las Vegas.

And right now, it does look like it will be a landslide of Clintonian (if not Reaganite) proportions.

  9. McCain is about the worst campaigner since Adlai Stevenson (for those old enough to remember). He's not responsible for Bush et al, but he seems incapable of being his own man or having any kind of consistent policy. It's not like the Republicans thought they were going to win anyway, they just thought they were going to lose to Hillary. All presidents disappoint these days because the job has become impossible. Bush didn't even try, however. Just don't drink the Coolaid, kids.

  10. Dear Las Vegas,

I feel your pain. I just found out that Santa Claus isn't real yesterday. LOL

Since you used the word "terrorist" in your posting and it wasn't a joke...I can only assume that you are an idiot and probably posting comments on this site because you represent a small (and I mean SMALL) minority of people that are so stuck to "party lines" that you can't see the forest for the trees.

    Poor thing. Awww

  11. @LAS VEGAS,

is it lonely and scary wherever you are? i don't know: might it be bizarro world; through the looking glass; an alternate universe, ecstasy gone bad?

yes, obama may inherit the quagmire left by the repugs, but it seems more and more likely that the dems will gain seats in both the house and senate. once the kids are kicked out of the candy store, perhaps the responsible adults can get some work done.
