  1. Andy, thanks for this one. It's great ammunition.

  2. So predictable -- he subscribes to the idea that 'if you repeat a lie often enough, people believe it the truth'

In an ironic way, I'm grateful for this Obama/Warren controversy; because of all the attention he is getting, we are learning the ugly truth about Warren in a way we might not have if the situation had not arisen.

Might as well 'make lemonade' out of Obama's painful gaff.

  3. Andy, this is great.....what a stinking hypocrite....and he took down the "Gays not welcome here" from his church propaganda when it was exposed ! What a dog turd ! Where are my shoes ?

  4. Sadly Alex-Warren was never a mystery for anyone who had studied his "godly teachings"-it is Obama that is being revealed -much to the chagrin of so many people who falsely had faith that he would be different. The fact that he we didn't get McCain is of little consolation to people who had real hope for a difference this time. And for some of us who knew it would be more of the same-this is just the beginning of a string of profound disappointments Obama has in store for people concerned with human and civil rights.

  5. "A lot of hate speech"? What a hypocrite Rev Warren is. His church's published policy to exclude Gays from "his" church is not all about hate?

Religions are very adept at segregating and isolating people. Churches in the U.S. are the most racially segregated institutions in this country. And, Rev. Warren's church specifically excludes Gays. This exclusion implicitly and explicitly encourages people to hate and despise Gay people. Words can be used as a weapon against people just as much as a gun can be. Hate words are used with a specific result in mind -- to inflict mental and emotional pain, to make people feel marginalized and despised.

  6. Evangelical Land, from which I was sprung, has found itself in a quandary, realizing that they have treated glbt individuals poorly, and they know they need to change that, but without changing what they believe about homosexuality. This results in cognitive train wrecks and memory "lapses."

  7. No more "understanding"or "reaching out" for this homophobic piece of shit. Equating gays with paedophiles ? No wonder there are so many violent crimes towards gay men and women.....it's cunts like this ferment the hate. What the fuck are "christophobes" ? Is he trying to sound bright ? Ha. What does Obama think he's doing ? Reaching out your hand to these people gives them credibility. Wake up; these are hate filled bigoted criminals; forget the reaching out crap.

  9. I appreciate Alex making lemonade, but think KJ has the best perspective on this one. We succeed in recruiting allies by informing people, appealing to them emotionally, then letting them assimilate it. The Vatican has recently softened it's position on Galileo. We may have to wait a while. We may have to work around the slow learners for a long time, but just because there are still a few flat earthers isn't reason to give up. I'm as frustrated as the nexy gay. I'm as tired of the drama queens who blather about their betryal and disillusionment as I am of the douche bags who love the sinner, but hate the sin. I'm trying to stay reasonable in my conversations with my mormon family and neighbors. It's dificult, but worth it when they come to you outraged by by an injustice they would not have noticed before.
