road.jpg Poll: Gay marriage or civil unions okay with Floridians. "A new poll finds that most Florida voters favor allowing gays to get married or have civil unions. Most of those voters -- 55 percent to 39 percent -- also oppose the state law banning gays and lesbians from adopting children. Democrats and independent voters were in the majority favoring the elimination of the ban while more Republicans and white evangelical Christians supported the law. The Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday -- with a margin of error of 2.7 percentage points -- found marriage and civil unions supported by younger voters more than by older voters, more by Democrats than Republicans, and more by people with higher incomes and college educations."

  1. I don't understand the Sweden and "major church" thing. Gays have been able to marry in Canada for years and many do so in the United Church of Canada, which is the largest Protestant denomination in the country and which was a vocal supporter of our right to marry during the debate.

  2. Yippee! More ugly overpriced shoes. Perfect for making your meth run Marc. Ain't Kayne doing "Louie" [sic] big favors bringing hot ghetto mess style to the LVMH empire.

  3. *Sighs.* Oh, Park Central. I'm so proud. Remind me never to go in there.

  4. That topical cream being developed by Harvard scientists to prevent herpes infection is being tested on female mice. And it has to be rubbed into the vagina.

So probably not useful for the folks around here.

  5. I'm glad that Mayor Bloomberg has his enforcement priorities in order. I'm sure Jose Sucuzhanay's family understands that it was more important for the cops to be hanging out in porn shops busting guys for consensual sex.

  6. Re: Girl Scout Cookies.

I'm enraged. It's not like those cookies are available all year round (and if they are, someone please let me know where). I rely on those cookies for springtime sustenance, and I'll be damned if a bunch of uniform-wearing do-gooders are going to deprive me of sugar.

For every cookie they take out of the box, I'm going to punch a girl scout. Yeah. Bring it.

  7. Jacobs should do us all a favor and put that shoe in West's mouth, every time he opens it something stupid comes out.

  8. Lost in the so-funny-I-forgot-to-laugh "jokes" about the Girl Scouts is the fact that, unlike those troglodytes at the Boy Scout Main Mosque in TexASS, the GS have proudly never tried to kick out lesbian scouts or leaders.

  9. The outtakes from that Chace Crawford clip really show what a fine young actor he is. Looks like it took him a few hours to nail a 30 second clip. Doing his hair probably took twice as long. Impressive!

  10. That Salon article is from 2006. I'm not saying that it makes any more or less likely to be true, just simply noting that it's not new information.

  11. IF they were to, that'd eliminate about 96% of membership.

Condi's the wicked witch, huh? How tasteful.

It's just a shame that a lot of those younger folks in florida don't vote.

  12. RE: Economy takes a toll on gay media.
What a bunch of bullshit. Blame it on the economy when the product is CRAP and not even worth reading?
These "publications" rarely publish anything relevent or timely. They are underwritten by drug companies trying to promote their latest HIV "treatment" with multiple full page ads of scientific drivel that nobody can understand and useless sex ads. The gay news on Towleroad makes these bar rags and magazines truely irrelevent.

  13. SFSHAWN

    BRAVO!

In addition all of the gay rags publish the same bland mix of stories over and over ad nauseum.

And don't get me started on the pages of "hot white guy ads"! The only time you see ethnic guys ( Btw, woman don't exist) is in those damn HIV ads.

I get much better news about LGBT (god, I hate that, GAY!) issues online, like here at TOWLEROAD.

  14. SFSHAWN, you're hitting the nail squarely on the head!! This is exactly the reason I no longer subscribe to ANY gay magazines. After 20 years, I let my subscription to the Advocate lapse.
