Harvard Hasty Pudding Club Guy is Dorm Room Dance Artist

Franco3

Some of you remarked on the easy-on-the-eyes Michael Phelps stand-in who was part of the Harvard Hasty Pudding Club's roast of James Franco over the weekend.

PetrosHis name is Petros. He's gay, and he wrote us over the weekend to say thanks for the exposure, and to let us know about himself: "I thought I'd send you my music video. It's certainly gay and certainly newsworthy. Okay, maybe it's just gay. I write, produce, record my music and edit my music videos in my dorm room. What am I going to do after college?!"

  1. Definitely Better than any Madonna song! At list he's talented!

  2. Hot - and a Harvard student to boot. Catchy dance tune but I'm sure it wasn't the essay that got him into Harvard.

  3. Ugh. Peter. At least this one didn't feature jizz. IvyGate hates him.

  4. Wow. I don't understand some of the words. I feel old. And yet also a tad nostalgic as some of it is reminiscent of Max Headroom playing mouth harp. What are all the chicks doing in it? Am I the only one who was sure he was about to do himself through the hole in the stall next to those cozy nurturing urinals?? Perhaps that could be mixed with the Alec Baldwin SNL skit glory hole references into an extended mix. More speedos please!

  5. I'm not sure why this is considered gay? He's chasing himself in the video and the two halves never meet or touch. On the dance floor it's all M/F interaction.

  7. it'd be better/gayer if he kissed a boy.

  8. I feel so old. Y'all can analyze the video to death but I think it is great dance music. Not that I club it any longer. Should be a hit in the gay clubs.

  9. PETRO - nice video, well done. But like NICK, I don't know how gay it is, a few same-sex couples on the floor would go a long way. And I think straight boys have reclaimed Narcissism from the gay boys in the past few years.... but enough analysis...
    NICE BEATS!
    Good song, good style.
I'm gonna call you Baby GaGa

  10. Cool song and he's HOT!

  11. Hey, I liked it all right. I have seen much worse. It's gay because he says it is; this is a smart young man seizing his 15 minutes of fame and trying to leverage it. Good for him.

  12. I like. He's hot.

  13. I thought it was sort of catchy! And I'm glad to see at least one Harvard guy creatively spending his free time. The lyrics could defintely use some help - maybe now he can partner with a lyricist. I mean what the hell is: "you look so clean but talk so dirty, never been kissed but your boyfriend's 30"

Really? But, in the end I still enjoyed it.

  14. Good Gawd! When does it stop!!??
    Boooorrrrriiiinnnggggg!!!

  15. UGH. That song is horrible. Can he sing? Who knows since his voice is so synthesized.
To the people who like it so much: Would you like him if he wasn't hot?

  16. Hottie Maybe aside, the main part of this event was shamefully anti gay people's dignty and should be protested.

First, James Franco's cute and seems to have a good heart and be sincerely non-homophobic, but that doesn't make him wise.

The reduction of Harvey Milk to someone in a cow costume is right [down] there with AIDS jokes. Did the costume have bullet holes?

If he knew ahead of time, he should have refused to participate in that part. If he did not, he should have interrupted the stupid white straight boys pseudo satirical and traditionally homophobic and misogynistic tricks to say something serious about Harvey and gay equality itself.

  17. @ DAIRYQUEEN: Yes, I would have liked it had he been overweight and unattractive but the important part is that it is a silly pop dance video. I do enjoy a some light-hearted totally irrelevant entertainment a few times every day - this video did the trick.

Why is there any need to get angry about people enjoying this video - for whatever reason they may enjoy it?

  18. If the cow costume had bullet holes it would have been FUNNIER. Get off the cross please, I'd rather you not make a mess on my carpets.

  19. i'll be damned... he is at least as good as several i have seen carve out a small career. ari gold comes to mind. and i LIKE that little lip curl thing he's got.

gonna keep an eye on him, as i expect we will see more of him.

  20. How did vain hot boys show off before YouTube?

    Posted by: Ben | Feb 16, 2009 2:28:02 PM

  21. Petros - got some real talent there. Yeah, the whole genre is shallow, but he's got some serious charisma. Reminds me of the young Brian Boitano (except sexy) and facially, could be the son of the youthful Streisand (see www.bjsmusic.com/simp.jpg).

    Posted by: emarell | Feb 16, 2009 2:36:34 PM

  22. He is a cutie. He isn't just showing off on YouTube like most of the people on it. His music is available on iTunes.

  25. Petros,

Can you please start sending material to Brit and Madonna?

    Thanks,
