  1. Ross makes Stepin Fetchit look like Martin Luther King. Kudos to Deon Sanders and Scott Paxon for being more liberated than this castrato minstrel boy in lavender face. Too bad the other players didn't shove that pink ball down June Bug the Intern's throat [tho I think he came closer than he imagined] and June Bug up Jay Time To Make Fun Of The Fags Again Leno's ass.

  2. Bertrand Berry and Lamarr Woodley are so cute! But my goodness, Darnell Dockett is a prick!

  3. That Facebook story is creepy, but there are so many unanswered questions about the case that I have a hard time getting quite as upset as the newscasters and judge shown, who are clearly disgusted by the thought of gay sex. If he actually raped 13 year olds and he was 18, then yes that's bad. But how did he manage to ensnare so many? The notion of blackmail simply makes no sense (what was he going to do, tell the kids' parents or peers that they sent nude pics to a girl? he was the one pretending to be a girl!), so it seems like some of his victims were just horny teens who got talked into receiving blowjobs. Otherwise, how could he have done that to so many guys and never gotten his ass severely kicked? It also sounds like a lot of this happened before he was 18.

I'm not in any way defending him: the bomb threat and child porn (if both claims are true) are serious crimes, and the sex could be serious too. But it seems like he's already been tried and convicted without the full story being known. I guess I'm just getting tired of all these stories where people freak out about the sexuality of a gay teen, while a straight teen who slept around would be considered a stud. Again, though, it depends on how the sex actually occurred. Maybe he only targeted quiet nerds who wouldn't speak up...because if he targeted some dumb jock who showed up to find a guy instead of a girl, I doubt the jock would hesitate to make that news widely known.

On a lighter note, can someone please explain what's on the head of the male owner of the bone-stealing dog?

  4. You know, Leland...I don't often disagree with you, but I gotta say, that Ross skit was hilarious! He reminds me a bit of Sasha Baron Cohen's character Bruno...he pushes all the right buttons in order to expose people's homophobia. And he's funny (at least I think so). I too love how Scott Paxson, Bertrand Berry and Deion Sanders respond to Ross...they demonstrated to American men, a generally homophobic lot, that it is okay to treat a faggot, even a flamer like Ross, with respect, kindness and even a little affection. That's a good message for this country.

  5. I love Ross. He's so lighthearted and good-natured that people feel like they can joke around and let their hair down. By letting the occasional fairy inuendo roll right off, he inadvertently inspires the football players to be more comfortable with laughing at themselves.

He might be a prissy queen, but like he said, "I was born that way!" Well, more power to her!

My only question is... where in the hell did he get an orange doily from at a stadium?!! That had me on the floor!

  6. @PAUL R: I'm a licensed psychotherapist. When I was in training, I worked with minors who had been convicted through the juvenile justice system of molesting other minors. The story of the kid who posed as a girl on a Facebook profile in order to get the other boys to send naked pics of themselves has all the hallmarks of the sort of case we used to oversee. The key here is that he used threats to coerce the other kids into having sex with him. He didn't ask them directly to have sex with him. Instead, he manipulated them into sending him nude pics of themselves which left them in a vulnerable position, giving him the power to threaten. Now, granted, some of his victims may have welcomed the opportunity to engage in sex. Others, I'm sure, did not. I'll say it again: the key here is that he used threats to coerce the other kids into having sex with him. That is the sign of a sexually assaultive kid. Without intensive psychotherapy, this is the sort of kid who would likely grow up to be a rapist.

I hope the court will not sentence him to 300 years in prison, but will instead take into consideration that most of his activity likely occurred when he was under the age of 18. And I hope the court focuses less on punishment and more on rehabilitation (in other words, intensive psychotherapy).

  7. Sorry to disagree with you, too, Peter, but where you see him "expos[ing] people's homophobia" I see him feeding it. Surely, you can't believe that exposing homophobia was the mission of his boss, Leno, who repeatedly features Ross as his literally walking "fag joke." Unlike Ryan Phillippe, Leno doesn't have to ask Ross to give him his "gayest look." And, unlike Ross, Phillippe had the integrity [and respect for gays] not to help continue Jay's "joke." [Leno apologize, of course, but, of course, he's still sending Ross out to eagerly play the cocksucking clown.]

As hot as some of the players are, you know as well as anyone, Peter, that football remains the troglodytic Holy Shrine to American Male "Normality," and most of its players and fans unfortunately subscribe to that and did NOT perceive it as you do. They'd agree with those players on camera who were offended by Ross's "pink ball," etc. YES, of course, they should be more adult. But if the world were like that, Matthew Shepard and Harvey Milk would still be alive, they'd be an openly gay Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Obama would be performing MARRIAGES in the Rose Garden, etc., etc.

And, yes, my throat comment was over the top, but forget "gay for pay" allegedly straight pornsters, Ross is "fag for pay" at the EXPENSE of ALL of us, including nelly queens LIKE ME, and for that he deserves condemnation.

  8. Leland Frances -- so you're advocating violence against gays? Are you for real?

Ross seems like one of the nicest guys in the world and he's just being himself.

For a gay person (I assume you are) to be offended and angered by someone else's level of effeminancy to the point of wishing physical harm upon them is shocking.

The people who came off the best in that video were the ones who were comfortable with Ross...not the insecure dickweeds laden with twisted personal insecurities who responded with hostility.

  9. Btw, I totally agree about the pink ball and the doily. They were over the top and sadly reinforced stupid stereotypes.

    Posted by: paul c | Feb 9, 2009 7:04:19 PM

  10. Glad I'm not the only one a little confused about Ross. Overall, I think he does more good than bad. The segment was at points very funny, and the people who came off best were the players who could laugh and joke WITH Ross.

Jay Leno, is a dick and always will be. Yes, he is 'using' Ross as the punchline to a 'let's laugh at fags joke'....but I honestly think it's backfiring, as Ross is more entertaining, more likable, and eminently more funny.

  11. Rawhide: Amazing!

Facebook Fraud: Gross and Anon licensed psychotherapist is spot on.

    Katy Perry: Who cares.

Ross: Is fantastic. Getting rid of my terrible towel, give me a dangerous doily now. The only offensive person in this video was Darnell Dockett. Kudos to every other player, especially Scott Paxon.

  12. No, coward, you're wrong. But way to whore your "profession". Compare the potential for recidivism despite treatment and release to a lifetime lockup, and maybe you'll see just how irrationally hopeful your suggestion is. What does that suggest about the effectiveness of many treatment methods? I expect excuses, so don't bother.

  13. Anon, I just wrote and lost a very long response. I'm not going to retype it. My point is that, yes this kid seems like a sociopath. But how was he able to (in your words) manipulate or coerce his victims, or make them vulnerable? Yes a 13 year old caught sending pictures to a "girl" might get in some trouble with his parents, but I can't think of anything a straight male teen would do anything to avoid more than being (anally) raped by another guy. Plus, saying there were 31 "victims" is absurd---horny males sent nude shots to a girl because they were hoping to have sex. Of those, 7 are supposedly true victims. The other 24 flashed their dicks to a stranger on the Internet.

Moreover, we have no idea what kind of sexual activity occurred here. I'm quite sure that in the eyes of a small town police department viewing gay interactions, that could range from exposure to handjobs to blowjobs---none of which I would consider rape, especially if the victims were on the receiving end. Finally, I'm not trying to blame the victims when I ask why they agreed to get in a car with him, or mess around at a library, school, or park---unless, again, he was targeting very meek kids. I fully recognize that I may have to eat my words once more information comes out, but right now there are just too many unknowns. And guess what? I say all these things having been sexually assaulted by an older guy when I was 16. I readily admit that, even though he's clearly a creep, it was the tone of the newscast that makes me wary here.

As for Ross, I don't see him opening anyone's eyes to anything but stereotypes. Paul Lynde and Charles Nelson Reilley did the same thing 30-40 years ago, and I actually respect them for it...but haven't we moved beyond this type of tired "humor"? I might feel differently if Ross worked for just about anyone besides Jay Leno.

  14. In that video about the bone stealing dog ... I wonder if that wife knows her husband is in the closet?

  15. Oh, and Scott Paxson is a hottie!

    Posted by: Rodney | Feb 10, 2009 5:38:44 AM

  16. Re the gay teen posing as a girl:

This has all the earmarks of a boy who has been the victim of sexual abuse himself at an earlier time. The fact that he has been doing this since 16 and coercing boys as young as 13... looks like the classic pedophilia cycle, gay version. Any teen who is this sexualized and has sociopathic tendencies has been abused at some point.

  17. I love Ross and his comedic ways. He's definitely in on the joke and loves testing the limits. I agree with the Paul C. I think the homophobia within the gay community can sometimes be worse than outside the gay community. I embrace all my gay brothers and sisters, nellie, butch, middle of the road and everyone in between.

I do feel that Jay acts homophobic and thinks making fun of gays is funny, but still Ross is smarter than Jay and turns it around.

As anyone here ever laughed at Jay Leno? I just don't find him funny AT ALL.

  18. @TANK: I'm not going to give you excuses. I'm going to give you a link to some facts courtesy of the U.S. Justice Department. Enjoy: http://www.csom.org/pubs/mythsfacts.html

As for your referring to my profession as a "profession", I'm always amused and intrigued whenever someone expresses such obvious disdain for psychotherapy, a treatment method that has been shown through controlled experiments to be highly effective in treating an array of problems. In short, TANK, what is it about psychotherapy that you find so intimidating?

As for referring to me as 'coward', I suppose you lob that insult at me because I have posted anonymously. After acquiring my own personal cyberstalker on another site, I have learned to post anonymously.

  19. And yet data suggests that only 1 in 3 sexual assaults against persons 12 or older are, in fact reported--and that that number goes up the younger the victim. Recidivism is rearrest and conviction...so maybe, like most rapists, they just get away with their crimes. There's very little by way of data to suggest that the treatments actually work.

Further, if you extend the period of time of the study, the higher the chances of recidivism for rapists and, particularly, child molestors.

  20. @TANK: Are you going to reference any studies or provide links to data or are you simply going to make claims that we are supposed to take at face value?
