6 Injured at Riot, Stampede, and Brawl at Top Model Audition in NYC

Line-jumpers apparently created outrage from hundreds of aspiring female models who had been waiting all night in line in midtown Manhattan (some were forced to "pee in cups" or lose their place in line according to NYDN) to audition for America's Next Top Model.

However, all hell broke loose when the black car you see in the photo above apparently overheated, and someone screamed "bomb." This caused a stampede and a brawl:

"Screaming as they ran for their lives, hundreds of hotties in heels toppled over barricades along W. 55th St. after several people in the crowd started yelling, 'There's a bomb!' By the time the model madness ended, six women were injured and two women and one man were busted for inciting a riot, authorities said...A fight broke out between two men who had been taunting each other for several hours, witnesses said."

Of course, despite the chilly temperatures, many of the models were apparently passing out because they had probably starved themselves for weeks to achieve the waif-like physique that would get them plucked by judges from the masses.

Watch the hysteria, AFTER THE JUMP...

  1. This is so pathetic in so many levels. And neither of them need to be explained. That’s how pathetic they are.

  2. The worst part is that none of these girls, even if they get on the show, will ever become a serious model. They'll probably land a commercial or two, but then the novelty will fade away and kaputt.

  3. We are so OVER as a species. These end days are not a pretty thing to live through.
I predict that the coming revolution will be sparked at an American Idol audition - when some deranged and disgruntled contestant deservedly sucker punches Ms Simon. In the ensuing melee with Idol security, all hell breaks loose. And the rest, as they say, will be human history, Circa 2010...

  5. The top model show has become a silly caricature... and this tops it. As mentioned, even if they win, nothing ground breaking is going to happen. (There's always marrying a Brady or becoming host or tv correspondent - but model... yeah right.)

I can just imagine Tyra Banks - sitting on her shiny throne with her Victoria's Secret jewel encrusted scepter in hand and, along with her Js, having a good manic laugh after watching this clip. Hahahaha

  8. "Reality" tv is the Devil's handy work. Pure bubble gum for the already mushy minds of the masses, this just demonstrates how far gone we are as a society. Instead of fighting for something meaningful, the younger generation is bred to believe starving yourself or fighting in line to be a model is more important than working to save lives as a medical professional, or becoming an engineer to develop environmentally friendly automobiles. I've become so desensitized by everything this doesn't even surprise me.

  9. les

    yes and no

Eva the diva has gone on to be a pretty regular soap actress on Young and the Restless and dating top rated sports stars = her eventual baby daddy will be rich!

Anyway; yeah none will ever become world wide top models. But one or 2 do end up with a better life than they had before.

  10. well, not surprising. remember last year when people were trampled going into WALMART? we have a sick society.

  11. Blame MTV. They started the whole so-called "Reality TV" trend with "The Real World." Reality TV is so far from reality, it's ridiculous. Producers manipulate contestants and edit footage for one thing only: ratings. And why would anyone participate in these shows in the first place? No one remembers the winners, unless the winner is that season's "villain." Is that the legacy you really want to leave? If you really want to be famous, get there for doing something good for humanity, not showing photographers your shaved junk as you get out of your limo. I have no doubt that we are truly witnessing the fall of Western Civilization.

  16. Bad publicity is still publicity. While these deluded women think that they will someday become a top model, Tyra laughs herself all the way to the bank.

  17. This is what Tyra Banks attracts. TRASH! When is her 15 minutes going to be up! Realize that 90% of these people have no talent but what they think they are blessed with.
I never heard this going on with American Idol.

  18. This is the funniest thing I've read all year! Thanks.

  19. Who cares. Tyra was casting for the 5'7 and under cycle so they can stump, roll, and go to war. Damn short people.

  20. What's not reported here is that even after it was canceled and people were sent home, hundreds of women remained outside, hoping to still get in! Quite pathetic indeed.

  21. Those two women who screamed 'There's a bomb!' should totally be on the show.

That, my dear Watson, is quality television.

  22. The show should be responsible for crowd control, not the police.
