Jake Gyllenhaal: Pumped and Pretty in Persia
Two publicity stills from Jake Gyllenhaal's gig as Prince of Persia have been released. They're the first to be seen since he was captured on set last August.
Jerry Bruckheimer said that the new bulkier Jake isn't the result of juicing up: "No, he didn’t [use steroids]. No drugs! No drugs, he just worked really hard. Well he’s a cyclist anyway and he bikes all the time so we just had him do a little lifting, but he looks fantastic."
Gyllenhaal told ET in November: "For all of the people who are massively interested out there, I've probably put on five pounds of muscle. [After the movie] I'm gonna get fat and I'm gonna be happy."

But he isn't really Persian. He's Swedish, Jewish, and German (not necessarily in that particular order). I'm not saying there aren't plenty of hot Iranian "enemy combatants" out there. But Jake Gyllenhaal isn't one of them. Heh.

I really hope that movie is a blockbuster success and justifies gyllenhaal's bloated salary and makes jerry bruckheimer a boatload of money. I hope and pray that everyone who contributed time and was extremely well compensated for it is vindicated by the mega success of this movie--nay, this film. If it fails, america fails, and if america fails, there's no god... But how couldn't there be a god with jake gyllenhaal taking his shirt off and mugging for vanity shots/advertising like that? A part of me wonders if he's cold...or thirsty. Does he have gas? What's he thinking about? These are the questions that keep us up at night....meh, I liked him better in city slickers. Now that was a man! ha ha ha
