  1. Thanks so much for following Rachel! I love this blog and I'm really happy that you've recently started to pick up some of her segments. She's fantastic. Keep it up!

  2. There is a scene in the PBS documentary The Dolphin Defender in which a human, not a dolphin, makes the same kind of bubbles while a dolphin, not a human, watches. An amusing role reversal. The filmmaker and conservationist, Hardy Jones, actually lies on the bottom of the ocean floor creating bubbles while the dolphin, Chopper, follows them as they float up toward the surface of the water.

PBS needs funds, so they've removed clips from YouTube and charge for the program, but I thought it was great when I saw the show in 2005 and I recommend it highly.

  3. Of course, where is the outrage over the $90 million in bonuses paid out by Freddie and Fanny?

  4. You've shared some great video clips with us in the past and I appreciate that but this one with the dolphins blowing bubble circles is the COOLEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN on youtube. And that's saying ALOT. Thanks!

Wouldn't you just love to know WHY they're doing it? I know I would.

  5. why, SCOT? because they are much closer to us than we would like to admit. if we do, then we must take on the burden of their survival. when we are bored, we turn on the TV or read or we doodle or go out and take a walk. dolphins in captivity make up games. they are the only mammal species, other than dogs, who are so acutely attuned to human feelings.
