Are Adam Lambert and Kris Allen in Offstage Idol Feud?

Adam Lambert and Kris Allen, who I previously reported are roommates at the American Idol mansion, are apparently "locked in a bitter feud" if you believe the National Enquirer.

An "insider" tells the tabloid in its May 4 issue: "Although they are friendly on the surface, there's a major culture clash between Adam and Kris. Adam is gay and avery flamboyant guy from L.A., while Kris is a conservative married man from a small Arkansas town. He's usually very easygoing and tolerant, but it's as if he and Adam are from different planets. And since Adam feels he has become the front-runner in the competition their relationship has become very strainged. Kris believes Adam has become arrogant and incredibly fulll of himself....Adam and Kris now go for long periods of time without speaking to one another. You can cut the tension with the knife."

According to the tab, "Kris often complains that Adam leaves clothes, nail polish, and other accessories all over the room they share...and Adam refuses to change his messy ways...The tight personal space is cramping both their styles and they're taking it out on each other."

Boy Culture has a scan of the item.

Of course there's nothing a tabloid loves more than a bitter feud. I'd expect Lambert to have  a bigger issue with Gokey but then again, it isn't always easy to share a room.

  1. Really, they're still sharing rooms? Haven't like 6 other rooms opened up by this point?

  2. You have to be really dumb to believe all that crap.

  3. toss in the fact of kris NOT being the front runner and of course he is bitchy.

If Kris was the front runner the article would be about adam bitching about Kris

guys whether straight or gay can be far more bitchy and catty than girls

  4. Maybe Adam just stirs up feelings in Kris that he doesn't understand (wink)

  5. i don't know whether it's true or not but i do know that i'd start being pretty annoyed if i had to share a room with someone who never picked up his shit.

  6. Yuck! I'd like to think that they are the best of friends despite their differences. It seems that's how it's been presented by Kris himself on a past show, so bollocks to the Enquirer. Besides, Kris is just dreamy :)

  7. Thanks for sharing this apparently well fact-checked piece from the National Enquirer.

  8. Oh puh-lese! The show is just trying to gin up drama as we get into the final weeks. There is bound to be tension (it is a competition) my guess is that they're all too busy and/or tired to deal with any of this shit.

  9. For all you who are pooh-poohing the National Enquirer, don't forget that the Enquirer broke the story on John Edwards' affair.

  11. I don't guy this. Kris said in an interview that they are roommates, because they are both neat.

Besides they looked very close in this week's result show.

They only have eyes for each other.:)

  12. sounds like a made up tabloid lie

  13. That story seems to put all the blame on Adam.

  14. The National Enquirer is a known repugnicon front. It's the most homophobic rag out there. All it is doing with this bullsh*t story is exactly what Bill O'Reily was trying to do...get it's conservative base to vote against the despised GAY and vote instead for the pretty little Christian. I love Kris personally, as I do Adam, and I am positive this story is a bunch of cr*p made up to turn voters off Adam. How do you leave nail polish laying ALL OVER the room? Such cr*p. Its just thrown in there to make the gay look bad. This is just one more despicable gay-h*ting act by those neo-na... err, conservative creeps.

  15. @ peterparker - Oh, puh-lease. The Enquirer also brings us such news-worthy stories such as George Bush meeting with aliens. For any "legitimate" story they break, they run at least 500 other ones made of BS.

Sorry, I honestly doubt they're fighting. Adam's really news-worthy right now apparently, and he sells. Not just music - he sells newspapers and magazines too. If the NYT wants in on that action, I'm not surprised the Enquirer would too.

Also: pretending to be friendly - you can always tell by the body language. There's plenty of pictures of them hanging out backstage being very friendly and relaxed. *rolls eyes*

  16. And let's rely on the always accurate National Enquirer for the truth, eh?

Lol. Double Lol. Adam arrogant? I have watched Adam on the show and have heard numerous commentaries from those who have known him and worked with him for years. Arrogance never mentioned once.

This is just NE being homophobic and trying to create a scandal where none exists to sell magazines. How out of character for them...

  17. This info is bogus. The does not even exist.

Another sick propaganda to ruin both Adam & Kris.

I have a feeling that this unhealthy item is devised by a group supporting another finalist that hates the fact that it's an Adam-Kris final in the end.

  18. I believe - from Kris's last week's performance that Adam is helping him with originality and mixing up his songs and taking risks. Kris didn't have one shred of originality until the past two weeks - coincidence? Doubtful.

  19. Has anyone seen where they are staying? There is nothing cramped about it. You could probably fit the top 5 in the hot tub alone. This isn't only rag material but they are trying to cause tension using the gay vs christian line of bs.

  20. The National Inquirer's a Republican azz-wipe that wants to paint Adam as evil and Kris as good. The right wing is doing its best to get the bible swingers to vote against Adam and Kris is their vehicle. Don't be fooled people nothing to see here, move on, move on, clear the area let the traffic pass.

  21. Well, if that's the case, Lambert can cramp my tight personal space anytime! Or I'd be happy to cramp his. Oooh, I just love Friday nonsense!

    Posted by: FizziekruntNT | Apr 24, 2009 1:12:47 PM

  22. I'm 99.9999% positive this tabloid non-sense. I know Kris and his family well, and I've only heard that Adam is an amazing guy and that he and Kris get along very very well. Lifelong friends for sure.

  23. Another well researched document frm the National Enquirer. I would have thought that at least your site wouldn't be stupid enough to fall for this crap. If they had done their research properly they would have discovered that Adam is a "neat freak" so to say he leaves things elsewhere is laughable. Guess it must have been a slow news day or something!!

  25. LOL...In an interview a few weeks ago, the AI contestants said they all had their own rooms now since so many others had already gone.

NI did not check its facts before publishing. :)
