Maybe gay college boys don't study harder. Maybe they're just smarter.
Though there was nothing to indicate that this study controlled for the types of courses gay v. straight students take. I didn't know many gays in college in the engineering school, aside from my boyfriend. Most were in liberal arts courses (including me), which tended to be less demanding. That could easily account for the 2 percent difference in GPA---which, by the way, isn't even statistically significant.

That Time article sucks. The reason why Wii scores with the casual gamers is not just because they have the wiimote. Hello, Nintendo DS/Gameboy/etc. They make great casual games -- and price their stuff to sell. The Wii makes a profit for Nintendo at $250 a pop -- and Nintendo can't keep them on the shelf, even to this day.
Simple, cheap, innovative and addictive has made Nintendo billions. Microsoft can't keep up. XBox360 costs more than twice that and Microsoft *loses* money on each console, hoping to make it back selling games. Now, they want to add an expensive, complicated peripheral - this late in the life of these platforms? Yeah, right.
Not many parents are willing to dish out $500-600 bucks to pay for a system that requires buying an add-on for another $100 and then games at $50+ a pop -- all to play connect the ooze dots, bowling and tennis. Not going to happen.

“The business of a journalist now is to destroy the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, fall at the feet of Mammon and sell himself for his daily bread. We are tools, vessels of rich men behind the scenes, we are jumping jacks. They pull the strings; we dance. Our talents, our possibilities and our lives are the properties of these men. We are intellectual prostitutes.
The bigger true story is Chad Adams affair with a woman convicted of fraud and sentenced 7 years in prison.
