PETA Angry at Obama for Killing Fly

Obamafly

PETA is angry at President Obama for swatting at, and then killing a fly during a CNBC interview on Tuesday. They are sending him a Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher, that traps flies for later release outdoors.

Said PETA spokesman Bruce Friedrich: "We support compassion even for the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals. We believe that people, where they can be compassionate, should be, for all animals."

  1. Coming from an organization that kills 90% of animals given to it to care for - HA!

A plea for animal compassion from PETA is like a human rights plea from Dick Cheney.

  4. I hope if any of those PETA people are attacked by a rattlesnake, a wolf, or any other type of predatory or dangerous animal, they just lay there and let themselves be killed. Wouldn't want to hurt those animals, now!

  5. Give me a break PETA pretends to care...but its only for the money and then they kill the animals they are to care for....hipocrites.

  7. Hey, I myself prefer to catch a spider or fly and toss it out my back door...........BUT PETA kills the majority of animals that come into its care. PETA has no ethical ground to stand on

  8. Every time I read about another PETA press release I get some KFC for lunch or dinner. My personal anti-PETA protest.

  13. i'm someone who truly believes in the rights of animals and compassionate treatment of them and i also believe that PETA totally demeans the cause. their antics (i call them that because that is what they are) have probably done more to degrade the cause than anything else.

  14. That is ridiculous. PETA needs to learn when to be quite.

  18. Disgusted American, PETA is so audaciously anti-evidence and anti-science that its members probably don't believe flies spread disease.

  21. I think this proves without a doubt that PETA belongs firmly in the wing-nut camp. Um, would PETA object if the fleas that carry bubonic plague were killed? Would PETA object if the deer ticks that carry Lyme Disease were killed? I imagine that PETA members' houses are probably havens for every kind of vermin, including themselves.

  24. I suppose they would save a mosquito too. I'm not a PETA supporter but I do believe in humanely killing of chickens, etc. I give them credit for trying to change that.

  25. PETA needs to chill.
