David Sedaris on living in France: "It's disgusting how people kiss in France. It turns my stomach. It's everywhere you go, and it's not just teenagers. You go to the movies and even ticket lines for movies and there are people making out. They're sucking each others' tongues and drooling on each other's chins. Anything you've done once, you can forgive. But I never made out with anyone in public. Part of that's being gay, so that allows me to enjoy being self-righteous."

  1. Why the fuck are they making another Sex In the City movie? Now don't get me wrong, I LOVED the last one and loved the show.

    But Miley Fucking Cyrus?

I'll go see it only if I can throw dog shit at the screen when that no talent little brat appears.

  2. As a french person I'll have to say that the prude attitudes of anglo saxons in general who hide their eyes whenever they see a peepee part, who don't kiss each others in public, who need to be explained that "yes taking your shirt off is necessary to diagnose a scoliosis" is completely ridiculous.

Being French and Gay allow me to be self righteous.

  3. I love David Sedaris!

I have always said that Fairey was a no talent thief who just stole from old Soviet posters. Turns out I was right about him being a thief.

  4. i am really surprised by that comment in the david sedaris article. that is one thing i will never understand about americans. young or old, the complete disgust in pda's is rediculous. i am gay, and i have never once curbed kissing in public because of it. but then again, i dont live in america. its just sex, get over it.

  5. It's Paris. PARIS. If you can't kiss somebody there, then where can you?

  6. Hell, I kiss men on the streets of San Francisco and it weirds them out. I don't spend much time observing other people kissing unless they're especially attractive or obnoxious.

No one can claim to be surprised that David Sedaris is uptight about such things, but not all Americans are...especially those who have traveled beyond our borders.

  7. You guys realize that David sedaris is a satirist and htat's he's joking, right? All his stuff is tongue in cheek, pun intended.

  8. I never found the slightest thing about David Sedaris witty or funny. His sister Amy, yes.

  9. Wait a minute. Obama is instructing officers not to enforce federal drug law when states don't want it enforced? I thought we had to uphold all federal laws we didn't like, such as DADT. Obama is a liar.

  10. Why is it acceptable to the Obama administration to selectively enforce federal laws re: marijuana use, but it's a different story regarding DADT? In the case of medical marijuana, the administration has issued a policy indicating that persons using marijuana for medicinal reasons will not face prosecution under federal law. If the enforcement of this law can be modified via "policy," why cannot DADT enforcement similarly be modified? Obama's position that DADT must be fully argued before congress is but a poor excuse for his inaction on DADT. Each day I'm am more convinced that OBAMA SIMPLY CHOSES NOT TO CARE ABOUT GAY RIGHTS.

  11. I'm with you 100%, Jay - its RIDICULOUS to be saying they have to rigorously enforce the law and then turn around and say "oh well, except for this... and this... and this"

  12. I lived in Paris for a semester abroad and one of my favorite things about it was all the people making out all the time. Oh I miss it sometimes, except for having to pay for anything. It was so damn expensive there.

  13. That Whitney vid is a trainwreck. She's backing up her backup singers, totally out of breath, sweating like she's in a sauna and acting totally dazed.

Either she's using again, or she totally fried her brain and her voice with all the drugs. Amy Winehouse is more coherent - and sings better - stoned out of her gourd.
