Governor Paterson on reintroduction of marriage equality bill: "I won't reintroduce the issue unless I see substantial change in the position of the legislators. People don't want to go down on a losing ship and unless they're sure the votes are there, they're not going to vote that way," he said. "If I saw some change next year, I would introduce it."

Stuck Mars Rover makes key discovery: "Sulfates are minerals just beneath the surface that shout to us that they were formed in steam vents, since steam has sulfur in it. Steam is associated with hydrothermal activity – evidence of water-charged explosive volcanism. Such areas could have once supported life. Spirit is lodged on the edge of a crater -- sitting astride the boundary!"

  1. After all the shit that been thrown at us recently (Obama backtracking on DOMA/DADT reversals, Stupak amendment, losing marriage equality in 32-33 states now that NJ got cold feet, war criminals getting off scott free) just about the only thing that seems truly good in this world is Lady Gaga.

  3. The item at the top of the page suggests that gays feel Obama is "ignoring" them.

Sometimes we might wish he WERE just "ignoring" us, but just a few items down you also mention a case like Karen Golinski, a federal employee whose insurance rights for her lesbian spouse the Obama administration has been ordered by a federal judge to stop openly obstructing.

That, combined with actions like the infamous DOMA brief, make "ignoring" look better by contrast, for when the Obama administration isn't ignoring us, they often seem to be directly working against us.

  4. Andy: Dave beat me to it--thanks for the link to Wockner's interview with Joe.My.God., where I also found Wockner's interview with you. Nice to get a glimpse, figuratively and literally, of the Man on the Road! All the best.

  5. I bet with Scott McCoy's resignation that he will receive a lot of crap from his opponents and homophobes. Then, after I see that, I will remind them of Sarah Palin.

Though she is still worse, haha.
