FRC's Peter Sprigg: Homosexuality Should be Criminalized

In a discussion of the 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' hearings, Hardball's Chris Matthews gave a forum to the Family Research Council's Peter Sprigg and laid his homophobia bare for all to see. If you've been reading this site, you are familiar with Sprigg.

Sprigg Sprigg has criticized Obama's awarding of the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Harvey Milk, calling it "the first time in history that the nation's highest civilian award has been granted primarily on the basis of someone's sex life."

Sprigg has also said gays shouldn't be near children: "Homosexuality is associated with higher rates of sexual promiscuity, sexually transmitted diseases, mental illness, substance abuse, domestic violence, and child sexual abuse, and those are all reasons for us to be concerned about placing children into that kind of setting."

And he has said gays should be deported from the U.S. rather an allowed to immigrate: "I would much prefer to export homosexuals from the United States than to import them into the United States because we believe homosexuality is destructive to society."

Last night, Sprigg spewed more of his anti-gay rhetoric, finally admitting that he believes homosexuality should be criminalized in the U.S.

Watch, AFTER THE JUMP...

  1. Sprigg = FUCKING.SACK.OF.SHIT! Unworthy of being called an American! And it takes a LOT for me to say someone does not deserve to be!

  2. If he can pronounce judgment on me, then I deem he not listen or purchase any music made by homosexuals, attend any concert/performance/play written, produced or performed by homosexuals, watch any TV written, produced or performed by homosexuals, view any art created by homosexuals, nor wear any clothes designed by homosexuals and see how far that gets him. I'll bet he's bored to tears within just a few minutes since our 'criminal' hands are involved in practically every part of modern art & culture.

I also suggest he be fined for any infraction found out about and be banned from attending anything where there might be gays involved (Broadway, for instance). He should also not quote Abraham Lincoln -not that I know he has- until it is definitely decided about our founding father's sexual orientation.

  3. "...and why do all these guys have such bad dye jobs?" Because no self-respecting gay (or gay friendly) hairdresser would do thids A-hole's hair!

  4. Well I have to say here is another bunch to add to an already over burdened bunch of dorks. If they would mind their own business and find a decent hairdresser than they would be too busy to bother decent people with their bull shit.

  5. Sprigg wants to criminalize ordinary, decent, run of the mill gay people. We've been through this before years ago and we will never allow that tyrannizing and terrorizing of our community to happen again. Our community has many fair-minded straight allies in the media and in the general public and they would never stand to see their gay friends, neighbors, coworkers and relatives criminalized.

Sprigg can run his mouth, but he can't do anything. This is 2010 in the 21st century and his type that believes gays to be felons are amongst the last of such a breed. Another 2 generations and most of the Sprigg types will be gone and will be history. He is not a young man anymore and many of the new generation of young adults do not hold his beliefs. But we do need to be vigilant as the antigays are desperate at seeing their influence gradually weaken over the years.

  7. Peter Sprigg is a right wing religious zealot who deserves to get his ass kicked. How dare he condem the GLBT community by saying such hatful shit..I have heard the BS stories where if 2 men lay together it is an abomination..Well so is talking back to my parents, eating shellfish, gambling, but wait, I am excempt from those laws because I am left handed, have ezema, and I am disfigured with a birthmark on my left leg..That means I will go to Heaven no matter what..LOL I Used to be an Eastern Orodox, but I am an agnostic because I don't believe that there is a loving God, if there were, that God wouldn't let punks like Peter open their mouths, and how could a loving God let all of the terrible things happen that have been happening for centuries, and don't even go with the "free will" BS..And BTW, I don't believe in the Devil either, the Devil is man made to scare people into Christianity..Shame on you all who went to Haiti and wouldnt feed the people unless they were baptized first..If there is a Hell, I think that the judgmental zealots are the ones who will be there...You don't have to be "born again" to be good, please don't let these hateful so called men of God scare you into their beliefs..The Christian church (especially in the early centuries) are/were evil murderers..Examaples, the Spanish inqusition, the Crusades, the Christians who wiped out the Mayans, and hung people that were witches..I do have one question. If a person was a witch. then how could you be able to lock them up, and hang them??? The right wing is sick, hateful and I do believe in Karma...
