Watch: Jake Gyllenhaal Showcases Tennis, Stripper Talents in New Vampire Weekend Video

In the random cameo of the week, Jake Gyllenhaal and a Jonas brother play tennis (but not with each other) in the new video for "Giving Up The Gun" by Vampire Weekend, which also features Lil Jon. Jake also showcases his talents as a stripper.

  1. Music, tennis and Jake; the video couldn't have been more perfect if strawberry shortcake had somehow made its way into the video. By the way, sometimes I feel tennis was hurt by moving away from wood rackets, which equalized players by striking a nice balance between power and strategy. But then, we always have Roger! Hmmm, Roger and strawberry shortcake...there's a video in there somewhere.

  4. I love this song! It's my favorite on the new album (it's been on repeat on my iPod for the past couple of weeks), and I'm excited to see the video. You also totally forgot about the RZA as the ref! Holy Shit! Funny, too, as the first time I heard this song the chorus "your sword's gone old and rusty" made me think of GZA's Liquid Swords. Shame he wasn't in the vid, too.

  5. Agree with Matt. Really bad song.

Watching Jake was ALMOST the video's only redeeming quality... but for the first time ever, I actually thought the Jonas bro was cute.

  6. Oh, Jake was just too damn cute for words! I suppose I can respond to his incessant text messaging now.

  8. I'd really like to know what those that think this is a really bad song consider is a good one. Vampire Weekend ROCKS. Maybe they're not your style, but it definitely wasn't bad.

  15. The hottest thing about this video was not Jake. It was the drummer. Woof!

  18. Of little interest to me, but for Jake! I'll watch him do anything. But...the female doesn't know how to hold the racquet properly--she's choking.

  19. I'm a little hot and bothered by the shape of Jake's lips about to wrap around the neck of that bottle!

  20. Not being into Vampire Weekend does not mean their songs are shitty. The song's actually good and the video rawr! :)) Love rostam! <3

  21. I've loved Vampire Weekend since their debut album. They don't need celebrity cameos in their video to get my attention though, the VW boys are cute enough on their own.

  22. Very interesting take on both the stripping and the tennis. I think broke back mountain has rubbed off on him.

  23. Jake, Lil Jon, RZA: great cast.

  24. VW sound like The Postal Service, imo. The singer and the drummer are cute but DAMN Jake and the Jonas bro's legs are DEF what make this video.
