Watch: AC360 on Focus and the Family and their Homophobic Attacks on Anti-Bullying Efforts in Schools

Bullying

Earlier this week I posted about Focus on the Family and their efforts to stop anti-bullying efforts in school, saying it's a back door to homosexual indoctrination.

Candi Cushman of Focus on the Family, Eliza Byard of GLSEN, and author Rosalind Wiseman discuss their claims with Anderson Cooper.

  1. Im sorry but religion has nothing to do with this topic. Candi used the trump card. She hid behind the religion bandwagon for the bible thumpers who viewed the interview. Please remember that education is an absolute. We send our children to school. They have to be there. Shouldnt they be safe no matter what?

I found it quite disturbing to actually think that there are homosexual discussions with kindergartners. They dont even know their own body parts, let alone having a sexual interest in others. Yes they are curious, yes they want to see if they are missing something but this is a little rediculous. If I was asked by a young student, there are appropriate ways to handle it. Common sense, people.

Leave the religion out of it. Protect our children, protect our education, encourage diversity and understanding. Hold higher standards. Dont censor.

  2. There have never been anti-gay bullying programs for kindergarten. This anti-gay bigot is bringing it up to scare haterosexuals and to give haterosexuals cover for challenging any anti-gay bullying policy. The fact is discrimination is the default for haterosexuals and they know it so if nothing is said against anti-gay bullying gay kids get hurt.

  3. Candi is not anti-bullying. She's PRO-bullying, and she's a bully herself.

FOF is NOT concerned about kids AT ALL. As she says in her last statement, they're concerned about PARENTS (who want to keep their kids ignorant and bigoted), not kids.
